Oh hell yeah man! Those ribs look awesome. I seriously need to get my grill at the house going. I got a little charcoal grill for my place at the coast and almost forgot how much I like grilled chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. And shit man, I ain't had any German potato salad since eating some on a plate with other German food at the big beer hall place in Busch Gardens, VA around 2010. I should change that. Despite being from the south I fucking HATE cold, traditional southern-style potato salad. German potato salad on the other hand is fucking awesome.
About 2 in the afternoon I had 2-3 Pabst Blue Ribbon beers while watching a war movie called "A Bridge Too Far" I'd never seen before. Then, it was time to throw some frozen fries in the oven and make hot dogs.
My grill has been out of propane for some time and I didn't want to bother going out for a refill. I started to throw em on the George Foreman grill when I thought to perhaps look on the Nathan's website (as that is the brand I bought) for the recommended method. Basically start getting water to boil off in a small frying pan, throw dogs in until they swell, remove dogs. Then pour the water out, add a little olive oil and throw them back in the pan to sear em. Take those out, then briefly toast the buns in the leftover oil. They turned out fantastic! 2nd best to cooked on a stick over a campfire.
Note: that is not real chili. It is Texas Pete "chili sauce" and it tastes better than it looks. Also tried some new garlic-infused Texas Pete hot sauce on the 2nd dog and it went well.
Around the time I'm cooking.. work calls. The power got cut off at the waterpark due to crazy storms last night. They are requesting I come in an hour early. No problem! No one but a contract cop sitting in the parking lot for an hour.. so I immediately headed to the wavepool for a swim and some tan work. Swam in a couple of other pools later after checking up on pump houses and such. Jumped off a 20 foot wall into 8 feet of water to top it off. The rest of the evening there after taking care of a few things was spent watching Riff Trax on Pluto.TV until time to come home at almost 1:00 AM to watch stupid wrestling and get back to drinking beer :)
