Please let me know if you are able to post a message in this thread (well, this forum, really) and edit it. If it doesn't work, which I suspect it won't, I will try the next thing.

Infuriating! You have the same access as the others. Wait - can you see if you can edit a post right after making it? I bet there is a time limit to it.

There is. On threads/boards where editing is enabled, the post can only be changed within about 5 minutes of hitting the 'submit' button. Editing does not increase the time. It's good for making minor corrtections where you said someting and mispelld something or forgot to put in some and left them out.
