10/15. TEN FREAKING FIFTEEN.

So here we go:

10/11: JC's Danzaland's wedding, co-starring ICJ.

10/12: ICJ flies back to Colorado

10/14: Nile with Vader, Amon Amarth and me in an eyepatch and black "sellout" t-shirt playing at the Ogden or Aggie or something

10/15: Max Payne II released in stores

All that plus Graveyards, Haunted Hayrides, Haunted Mansions, the Milker and I introducing Vitriola to "The Church," two Halloween parties, corpsepaint for me as the Joker and probably some KEY LIME PIE.

Here's a bunch of info on the release:

So is it supposed to be real great? Any Multiplayer? Because that is the only motivation for me to purchase.

I imagine no multiplayer. Look, who are you kidding Berslamski? Who do you think you are going to play with, Confused Predator or whatever the hell that guy's name is?

...

... Point, set match, Worm.

I don't think there is any multiplayer component, though. Did anyone figure out how to model bullet time in multiplayer yet?

No, but I heard that there's an underground mod in which you can model mullet time, and have Max shooting his way out of the Last Thing Left Liquor Store while clutching a fistful of dollar bills, a pack of Basics and a pickled calf-tongue while his friend Blye waits in the '76 pick-up with the missing windshield around the corner.

Oh, btw, I played and beat this last week. I found myself wishing that it was "No One Lives Forever 2" (the last great action game I've played); it's funny how much better even the first one is. You wouldn't imagine that they would have somehow managed to take the fun out of head shots.

Anyway, I bought Contract J.A.C.K., the NOLF2 prequel that came out yesterday, today. It's supposed to be more of a run-and-gun or whatever they call it, making the gameplay more like Doom or Serious Sam. I'm pretty sure that I'll enjoy it enough, and it's only $30 as I guess it's a somewhat small game.

Just want to point out the stupid packaging, though. The cds come in paper envelopes and they actually put the cd key on the sticker keeping one of them closed; one should not have to take freaking care when opening one of those shitty envelopes to not rip the sticker (there shouldn't be any sort of sealant at all, of course). I remember Robb complaining about something like this in another thread and if I had remembered which one it was, I would have put it there.

I think that is a subtle hint for him to bitch less.

Speaking of new games, I just lately picked up Age of Wonders Shadow magic expect a biased review.

Just beat Contract J.A.C.K. I probably should have had it on a harder difficulty than "normal" (I still had a hard time near the end) but since I play these games to see all the neat stuff and not necessarily to challenge myself, I don't see why I should be extending how long it takes to beat it on purpose, especially because that just multiplies how much I quick load and quick save more than anything and doesn't necessarily make me a better player. That's the main reason it took me less than a day to beat Max Payne 2.

Not that Contract J.A.C.K. wasn't repetitive at parts and some levels might have been a bit too similar in feel to No One Lives Forever 2, I still had a jolly good time. One level later on alone justified the purchase for me. I'm going to be looking forward to the next one.

I don't like anything that's just plain violent, I'm staying away.

I wish I could say that Max Payne II was compelling enough for me to return to after the first week I bought it... but it's not.

It's more of the same, but that's what I wanted out of MP2. I don't fault it for that. And the AI and engine physics are great.

Jesus, maybe I'm just getting old now. I don't know.

I, also, played it once and haven't been back. I was having fun at the time though.. it's just with PGR2 and GTA double pack I haven't been away from the XBox.

And I'm definitely NOT old, unless you're thinking in terms of whiskey. I have that >12 yr flaaaaaavor.
