You and me both, baby.

Ben is touring the country right now. You can see his updates on www.sonowthen.net. I think he might be rather pissed at me, as my last few attempts at communications with him have all been rather futile.

Jesus Christ.

You know that scene in Aliens? Where Ripley, despite being able to escape in safety, risks everything to go back in the alien's den, battling countless alien warriors and have a smackdown with the queen, all to save a young girl?

You know those distraught parents you see on the news, whose child has been kidnapped, and they're putting up signs all over the state, going on TV, putting the face on milk cartons, hiring private detectives, and basically doing anything and everything in their power to get their child back?

You know how in Kill Bill, the Bride will let nothing stand in her way in order to get back to Bill and slaughter him and everyone else in her way?

You know how in Pulp Fiction, Bruce Willis puts himself in mortal danger and is nearly killed because he has to go back to get a watch that was the final gift from his dead father?

You remember all those?

The amount that Ripley cared about saving Newt... the amount that the parents care about getting their child back... the effort that the bride will put out to get revenge... the desire that Willis has to get back his beloved watch...

Put them all together, and you get about half of the heartbreak that Jonsey apparently feels that Pinback isn't posting much any more.

Yeesh. Are you people so desperate for content that you can only post about how someone left? I should hope that you're all better than that.

Well, most of you, at least.

Get over it.

Oh, there are much more interesting things going on here at the moment, but this is not the time nor the forum for it...

Sue your m'fucking landlord! Do it! I did it, and won, and didn't need no steeeeeeeenking lawyer.

Isn't "good lawyer" an oxymoron, anyways?

Actually, I used to work in a law firm, and a few of 'em were pretty good. Not all, but a few of 'em.

This is because you have never experienced a poster as good as Ben on your own board, except for when Gold decides to stick around for a week. I mean, you'd miss him wouldn't you? Same thing.

Divorce your dislike for the man (er, Ben, not Gold) and look at the Best Of base. The guy is hilarious. Of course we want him back.

The only thing that drives this BBS, though, is people posting to the BBS. (Nobody reads the index.html page on the main site and dives into the BBS based on that.) But with people posting lots to this BBS there is less incentive to post at a frenzied rate on it, so the rates go up and down.

I need to take out a banner ad or something.

First off, he's really not - I mean, I honestly am stunned that you think he was ever funny. I don't mind guys who are annoying as long as they're funny. (Hell, I think Nessman might be able to fit in to this category sometimes!)

Secondly - I don't recall anyone pulling at their hair, wearing sackclothes, and generally wailing at the moon when Oh Niner stopped posted. And even you, with your most tainted Pinback-love-goggles on, have to admit that Oh Niner was one of the all-time greats and certainly more worth having around than PB.

All I'm saying is, no one wants to read you whining about him being gone. No one. Look to the future, not the past.

Damn, I was going to post a picture I saw of the Green River Killer in court the other day, where his inmate clothes seemed to say "ICJ" on the back. But I forgot where it was.

Yes. He REALLY WAS that funny. Go into the Best Of base and read any of the threads that he started. How can you say he wasn't on top of his game? Pinback Reviewz the Hot Saucez is one of the best posts, ever, by anyone.

Yes, but Joe stopped posting because he was tired of us fighting all the time, right? Only he didn't return when we stopped fighting.

I'm not "boggleexpert72." And anyway, in theory, Pinner is coming out to visit this week. That essentially makes it:

Pinback: 1
JQW: 0

Y'know. Just saying.

You will. I personally guarantee it. I think the bet is that if I don't, I am staying home for the Rochester trip to the, ah, attractions, with Dayna going without me. Sitting up that night would be one of the all-time worst nights of my life, definitely that. I don't recall exactly what I win if I get it finished, other than the Monkey Off My Back. So there's that.
