Gettin' High on Rhythm Action Games

I have discovered the new love of my life.
For various reasons, I ended up spending much of the weekend in London, playing more video games than I have in approximately the last six months, and I have gotten myself absolutely hooked on the new official Best Thing In The World: Gitaroo Man. Which, for those unfamiliar, is a PS2 game that puts you in charge of a delightfully strange Japanese guitar-wielding superhero and challenges you to defeat opponents with your incredible musical prowess. And it's bastard hard. I must have played it for at least eight hours, to the point where I couldn't tear myself away without hearing the music going round and round relentlessly in my head and my thumbs twitching involuntarily. I couldn't sleep becasue all I saw and heard when I closed my eyes was the Mexican maracca insanity of the sixth level. Every time the pipes went in the house, it sounded like one of the drum solos. Things got worse when I discovered Amplitude; I cannot see myself crawling red-eyed and deafened from the room which houses my new PS2, which I just bought purely for the sake of Gitaroo Man, before I have thoroughly completed it in every possible way.
This is like some sort of fantastic drug. Twitch-gaming at its very purest, invading the mind and staying there until I am forced to go crawling back into my darkened games room, all the pretty colours and lovely noises completely taking over my senses.
I think I need help.

I like the silly arcade game where you hold a fake guitar with three or four buttons and have to push them at the appropriate time. I don't think it's the same thing because I don't remember any superheroes.

Try Gradius 3 (Bubble Level), Dodonpachi, or anything by Pysiko. Oh! Don't forget to die, because I fucking hate you.

That's the spirit!
Worm! You and your negativity do not represent America. Nor does your hideously foul mouth, young man!
I wish to extend to Keza the full warmth of a hearty American greeting, seeing as how she's from Scotland, which is part of the UK, which is one of the few countries to stand behind us in our <s>imperialist jackbooted march through Iraq on a quest for frankly fictitious Weapons of Mass Destruction</s> righteous deposition of the hated tyrant Hussein.
Welcome, young miss!
Citizen Ashcroft
P.S. Mr. Bernoski, if that <i>is</i> your real name: you will be spending some Quality Time in Sunny Gitmo Bay, real real soon. HAND!

Also, I think it's better to get high BEFORE you start playing the rhythm action game. Also, hey, I just now noticed the Amplitude mention. I know someone who helped make that (Dan Schmidt, of "For A Change" fame).

Look, as I spend so much of my time not calling you all worthless scum. I've lately tried to balance it out half and half, you stupid cunts. Seriously, isn't "Citizen Ashcroft" getting boring? Whom is the shit who keeps him going?
ROFL DID YOU HEAR ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING SINCE 9/11 OMG
I wonder if I could coax the idiot conspiracy guy from groucho to come here.

For starters, you mean "who."
Second, "the s*** who keeps him going" is none other than the lawfully <s>elected</s> appointed President of the United States, George W. Bush.
Yrs. in Christ,
Citizen Ashcroft
P.S. Bernoski, when you get to Gitmo, your pasty white nerd-butt is <i>so</i> mine.

Yea, I figure what was right was "who" but I meant "whom", doucheface. This is just more
"Fuhrer Bush" shit that no one thinks is funny. We get it, okay. We got the joke two years ago.

Oooooh. Give him a hug for me.
Oddly enough, I seemed to get progressively better at Gitaroo Man the more stoned I become. Possibly because the music seems to actually become part of my soul.
Mister Ashcroft, you're a stand-up AmerikaAn.
