Alright, what the crap am I doing wrong?

The power supply on this laptop is seriously starting to piss me off. It doesn't seem o be receiving current, and I'm not sure if it's he fault of the chord from the outlet to the ACDC converter or that converter itself that is at fault here, although I will take a wild guess and go with the converter since it, like, has parts and shit.

What concerns me is that I got this 4-year-old hing in November. Near the middle of June I had to replace the adaptor, and now it looks like I'll have to do it again. Which makes me think that I'm fucking them up. Is it really that easy to do?

Laptop power supplies DO fail, but in all of my years of being a systems admin, I've never seen one suffer an internal electrical failure. It's always a failure of the cable that goes from the brick to the laptop, usually at the point where the cable enters the brick. You really can't fix that connection either, so the only option is to replace it.

If you have a voltmeter with a continuity tester, you can test the AC cable by just checking continuity. Make sure you jiggle the cable around while doing this, in case you have an intermittent break someplace.
