I fucked up my knee playing football, badly

Sorry for the lack of content from me as of late. I messed up my knee trying to catch a guy playing flag football two weeks ago. Since then we have had two rainouts, so I haven't missed a game yet.

It buckled on me pretty badly when I got home, and I was on crutches for the first time ever when Dayna took me to the doctor the next day. Crutches suck! I constantly see college kids on them in Fort Collins when we are out carousing and I don't know how they do it. All I wanted to do is sit home and zone out and realize how special the act of football really is.

I understand that "stretching" or something helps when you get to be 30 years old? Perhaps it's time to head up on WebMD and get an answer here after all! I only have one "sack" after three games, so an improvement is necessary or else I'll get benched. I've never been "benched" in my life, and like Emmit Smith I prefer to go out on my own terms, kicking and screaming, punching Death in the nuts all the while.

My brother and his friends (all big guys) have an annual football game Thanksgiving morning. Stories of these games are legend....at least one person breaks something each year, and my brother is usually so sore after the game that he can hardly feed his face at dinner. Think real football, but without any kind of helmets or padding.

Now that he and his friends are in their early 30s, the games have either ended or become much more, uh, sedate than they used to be. Age has caught up with them, and they simply aren't able to absorb the damage like they used to. Sounds like what might happening with you. As somebody well into their 30s, my suggestion would be that if you want to keep participating in games like this, then you need to work harder to stay in shape so you can take the abuse. That's what ya gotta do when you start to get old.

That's weird, I used to play in the Turkey Bowl until, 0h five years ago. Then I retired with grace and now I laugh at all the stoved -up guys trying to pretend it dosen't hurt at the dinner table.

The games used to be 4 hours. then it was three hours. Now it's down to an hour and a half.
