PBS extends the finger to Red Dwarf... or do they?!?

I had decided all last week to "strike back" against the utilities that I have been a slave to as of late. To wit:
1) I cancelled my telephone and got a cellular one. It's really sickening just how expensive a simple phone line is in Colorado. In fact, I am going to take a moment away from posting this and upchuck some puke-voxels into the ole garbage can. Magnificent!
2) I arranged for the Directv guy to come to my house on Saturday. No, not on a date or anything you sicko, but to install the dish that will allow me to get more programming for less money than the $40.50 that basic, non-HBO/Showtime/Skinemaxed cable costs out here. OK, I also got this because it allows me to get all the NFL games on the weekend. Funnily enough, the Saints are scheduled for exactly one "prime time" game this season out of the 16 they will badly play. The NFL package works out to just under $8 per week, and considering that I was going to a bar to catch the games and spending at least that much on some of the blandest food on the planet ("C.B. & Potts, Ft. Collins, CO") I will now just have to emerge from my bed upstairs and slither to the TV downstairs. I can do that.
But what the hell is PBS doing cancelling Red Dwarf? The only thing that was remotely nice about being inside on a Saturday night was that at 10:30 I could at least catch that show. You still felt like a do-nothing loser, but at least you chuckled a couple times. I didn't think that PBS cancelled anything. I'm hoping that I get access to some different public broadcasting channels or something when the Directv is turned on this weekend.
Oh, and they want a "note from my landlord" that shows permission for the install. I am hoping that my brother's punching-out of my window screen like he was re-enacting hacked scenes from River City Ransom will be enough to persuade them that at this point, nobody cares any longer. Hopefully.
