It has come to my attention that a guy who frequents the Something Awful forums has (along with a few others) been going to a fundamentalist Christian forum. That in itself is not particularly noteworthy. However, the alias that the guy originally chose was:

"Atheist Christpuncher."

Longtime readers may remember how I occasionally go to Ben Parrish's BBS and create "fake" identities with which to discuss the day's events. The above name, however, is so much better than the ones that came before it that I am having a real crisis of confidence. There really needs to be an Atheist Christpuncher franchise, with movies, a cartoon, action figures and a sugary cereal all available. And this is coming from a guy who is not even particularly anti-religion, that's how good I think that handle is.

But anyway.

Why yes, that is a good handle. You should write a book about such a character, many, many books. Make sure that in all of them you have a reminder note to save the rain forests.

That seems to be quite logical.

I would apologize for the previous posts, but I am currently hopped up on cold medicine, so I won't because the names seem quite funny to me right now.

I told my housemate about this and he mentioned that he knew of a metal band called 'Christpuncher,' so maybe it's not as original as I first thought.

It is historical fact that Jesus had testicals. For some reason this is offensive to the Catholic authorities.

Christpuncher in an of itself is a great band name. Every band that I have been tuned into lately has had a terrible name. We should do the list. Shall we do the list? Here's the list:

And so on and so forth. (BTW, I am not Underground Music Man or anything. A punk-pop label put out a "compilation" CD, and I went through it and downloaded other songs from those bands and ended up liking much of it. So that's it.)

But those names all suck. Christpuncher looks good on a jewel case. Like "Foo Fighters" does/did.
