[ARMY OF TIME WASTING] Pinback's PS2

So, I now own a PS2. Mainly for the purpose of playing GTA:SA.
Other than that, though, what games should I git? (I'm stealing Robb's Katamari Damacy, so don't list that.)

don't get one of those piece of shit GTA games.
The following mission from GTA Vice City (I played PC but since it is a port it sohuldn't matter too much)-
Fly a remote controled helicopter and drop detonators in strategic places to destory a building.
Sounds great EXCEPT
1. The controls are the gayest ever (tried everything to change them to something decent)
2. The remote controlled copter is as deicate as Pinkback's emotional state
3. IT'S A TIMED MISSION!!!
4. It takes 5 minutes to drive to the mission site which is really especially on the 900th attempt.
Also, other great GTA moments.
1. Finishing a mission and getting killed on the way back to "SAVE"
2. All water has the ph level of a Vietnamese whores crotch. It shouldn't be called water, they shold just make it LAVA.
3. Some cut scenes can't be skipped. Which is great when doing a mission over and over.
I doubt GTASA has fixed the same fatal flaws that made the othter games suck-
5 minutes of cool WOW
10 hours of getting pissed at the shitty design,
and then a car trip to sell it to
Anyhow the only other games I play on PS2 is sports games. I ASSUME WE CAN RULE THOSE OUT!

I bet this on my second try, only losing on my first because my brother said "Dude you can't take damage!"

They aren't worse than the controls for the rest of the game.

OMG BURN!!!!! Pinkback? Bonus burn points. Also, it's not that delicate, I heard there is a worse mission in GTA:SA.
Knuckles the CLown wrote:4. It takes 5 minutes to drive to the mission site which is really especially on the 900th attempt.
I did so well I could have got the damn copter back out! Though I've got to agree that the missions going from fun to shit is a big problem.

You realize you just respawn and then can go save, right?
Knuckles the CLown wrote:3. Some cut scenes can't be skipped. Which is great when doing a mission over and over.
Never got one.

I'm editing your post as a suggestion to the board members.

Pinner plays those though.
My only suggestions are R-Type Final, Gradius V, and Mobile Light Force 2. All SHMUPs, all cheap, all fun.

Shining Tears!
It's like Shining Force, but realtime, and will make you want to make a friend to play it co-op with.
Rez & Ico, Rez if you're going to play it in an special states.
Get the vibrator version. It will make you want to make a friend to stick it up their co-op.

Remember, it can play Playstation One games as well. Your options for your PS2 are in 180 degree opposition from your options for your Friday nights.

AHHhahahahhaha!!!!
I'm going to go ahead and guess it's tears as in what comes from your vaginas, and not as in what you pasty fuckers can't do to phone books.
At least the tears falling out of Princess Mascara's poorly-rendered Poser eyeballs are shiny. The ultimate in emo crying angst. Lex, which button in that game is "scurry"? Is it next to "passive aggress?"
Do I have to do a fancy combo in order to to "hide underneath the hamper in step-mom's basement?" when the upstairs doorbell rings? It could be anyone!

Ah, crap. But it's so difficult to know what kind of games you'd like.
Here's what I can recommend. But please note, I have much of what I can recommend. And I think you know what I have and have not been enamoured with it.
o Ico. Adventure games... not actually dead! Ico is one of the 20 best games I have ever played in my life. A long time ago there was a boy who was born with horns on his head. Some ancient prophecy made a townsfolk think that the best way to handle his coming was to lock him up in a castle. (OK, I have some details wrong here, but still.) So they do! Only they can't do that right and his cage breaks and he escapes his tomb. Now, he has to escape the castle.
And along the way he sees a blind ghost of a princess that he must help escape as well. And shadows are trying to get her, and will if Ico leaves her for too long.
It's fucking excellent.
More recommendations tomorrow.

Yeah, and then the stream riddle overcame you. You haven't played it since; you're still about 1/2 of the way though. Pity. It ended well, too.

Isn't it like $20 now too? Great game.. and one of the few games to look good on PS2. such a graphics whore I am..
in unrelated note, due to all the tobacco and marijuana I smoke directly in front of the TV, the contacts between the back guts of the TV and the tube get grimy. Periodically I have to pull the back off the TV and pull the circuit board off the tube and clean the contacts. This is about monthly, so often I that just leave the screws out and have probably lost them and can never move with this TV FUCK!
Well, I lost the contact pen I was using and "monthly" has turned into "not in awhile", and my TV acts funky from time to time. the solution to that is, of course, to get a better signal to the tube. Which, being lazy and high, is usually to just smack the living daylights out of the TV until the picture looks right. Now the picture seems to be slowly creeping to the \ right, noticable on movies but now you can even see it on the words on like Home shopping Network or something gay like that. Soon it's going out the window. Even though I only live on the first floor.. have to make sure it's raining outside and the fucker's still plugged in or something.
I know there's gotta be a dial hoochamabob in there to turn for "tilt" but it's not on the onscreen menu. NEEDS MORE SERVICE MANUALS
ps. also 4 corners of tv turning black
note to self - do not bitchslap tv no mo

GTA:SA has one obvious effect, accute potty mouth.
If you want to be flooded with video games go to SA or Penny Arcade for reccomendations. Here's what I've heard.
Disgaea(sp?) is supposed to be very good.
Here's what I know
The Megaman anthology is alright. PS2 has R-type Final, Gradius V, Strikers 1945 I/II, and Mobile Light Force 2. All great SHMUPs. Psi-ops is a fun little romp in the garden of rag dolls, make sure you bring a FAQ to avoid the game ending bug.

Shining Tears is probably shit, I'm sorry. It's set in the same Universe as the Turn-Based Strategy games, Shining Force, but that is a generic mystical-land Universe anyway.
I downloaded TLOTR: The Third Age, the Gameboy version. It's surprised me by being good. The bigger-console versions are pretty much applications of the Final Fantasy formula to Tolikien's Universe, and more specifically to Jackson's films, but the GBA version has actually attempted to mimic the best seeling RPGs on that system, the turn-based Fire Emblem & Advance-Wars types. So, that's cool.
I've actually heard some really good things about the game, you should try it and hit up a review for us. The idea of being able to play as a Troll and beat the shit out of the Fellowship does sound like fun.
Also: There are no hobbits :)

One PS game that I heard was good that you might like is called Colony Wars. I'll let you borrow it, Pinner!

On the other hand, well, it's in mint condition and everything and I might be better served by just keeping that around my place. Just saying!
Beyond Good & Evil was available for $14.99 at Best Buy the other day, so I took it. It's mine! The save system managed to top Ico: I had to chase a robot into a hobbit-like building and then insert a disc and press "validate" in order to get it to save. All while Kilowog worked on some machinery for me.
Whoever figures out how to make saving the fucking game a bigger and better part of these games is my new favorite unknown person. I'm in love with you, whoever you are!

I hear that the next Grand Theft Auto will actually require you to get on your knees and fellate your controller before it lets you save.
