God dammit. You didn't mention how FUN it would be!! Seriously, this is pretty damn good and something we should all be talking about.... stat.
Oh, wait. Re-reading your message, you do kinda indicate that it is fun. Maybe I need to post a screen shot or something -- just to let everybody know how good it is.

I've found that after an hour or so, the game kind of loses its luster, when you realize that there seems to be one point in each game where it switches between "possible" and "impossible", and you die shortly after. In my experience this seems to generally be around 40,000 - 45,000 experience points. After you've come to this realization, you're basically just playing the same five minutes over and over again, and whatever joy you're going to take from it has to be from the actual act of blowing away aliens before they grow too numerous.
Or whatever.

OK, this is really going nowhere. Did you check out Phobia II yet? Right .... no, not here, but
here is a link to it. I think the gameplay is rather similar.

By the by, I cannot get sound to work on my copy.
That kind of changes the "intensity" of the game a bit. Damnation.

WHEN I PLAY CRIMSONLAND I LIKE TO EAT RAW SPAGHETTI NOODLES BECAUSE THEY ARE CRUNCHY AND LAST A LONG TIME AND IF YOU HOLD THEM IN YOUR MOUTH LONG ENOUGH
(LIKE WHEN THE ALIENS ARE COMING AT YOU AND YOU ARE TRYING TO ESCAPE AND NOT THINKING ABOUT EATING THE NOODEL)
THEY GET SOFT AND GOOEY LIKE A NOODAL THAT WAS KIND OF COOKED BUT KIND OF NOT BUT AT LEAST YOU CAN BITE IT WITHOUT SHATTERING YOUR TEEFUS.
SO I LIKE CRIMSONLAND A LOT AND I AM HUNGRY NOW.

OK, I downloaded Phobia III.
Um.
You can't turn and fire at the same time? Please tell me you can. I couldn't. I want to be wrong here. I can't believe I have to take my finger off the "fire" key to turn around. The inane Resident Evil style moving scheme I can deal with but that... it really, really detracts.
