Job Search Update!

Here's an e-mail I received today. Please note that I have never contacted these people about anything.
Dear Robb Sherwin,
This has reference to your application for employment sent to us/sourced from internet job-board.
We have shortlisted your CV for a possible opening in Infosys Technologies Ltd. In this regard we would like to have a preliminary round of discussion with you to ascertain suitability for a possible role with us. Within the next 2 weeks, we would be contacting you over telephone and would be discussing with you in this regard. In case this call lands up at an inconvenient time, you could workout a mutually convenient time with the interviewer.
As per our records, your contact details are as follows:-

Incase there are any changes to the above, please let us know so that we can update the same in our records.
Based on the outcome of this discussion we will let you know about the next course of action, which will be intimated to you from our side.

Oh. So in the next two weeks they will contact me on their terms about an as-of-yet unknown position. In India. So what the hell is this mail, then, some sort of warning? I just received the career improvement equivalent of "SHARK ON BEACH."

Sounds like a bunch of scumbags to me....some company that pulls down every resume from every job board and tries to find some newbies in the industry to work in some sort of sweathouse call center. Tell 'em to fuck off if they ever actually call.

I have received many calls from recruiters, it's just that they have contracts to fill. I got one mail right before I left for Christmas for an "Urgent!!" need for a LISP programmer. Honestly, they picked the worst day to ask me to work for them. OK, not the absolute worst. If I were actually in New York for my 10 day vacation that would be slightly worse.
Well, anyway.
My meniscus is still killing me so I can't risk just leaving my job and doing contract work. I should fuck it up once more and try to get on disability. Disability -- it's a goddess, but I understand it's a bitch goddess.

Every once in a while you see a listing on Dice that has to make you laugh. This guy just loses it at one point:
**DO NOT SEND RESUME UNLESS YOU HAVE ALL THE SKILLS NEEDED FOR THE POSITION AND THEY'RE MENTIONED IN YOUR RESUME!!**
Haha! Okay, pal! I like how the first exclaimation mark wasn't enough for him. I was tempted to send off a few bad resumes in the hopes of them pulling the ad and adding the "!!!!!!!111one" thing to the end of it.

I thought you loved working for the bus company??
Send me your resume again. I make no promises, but at least we have a "real" HR person now, so I can at least give it to her...
