Paying the bills

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

It's $156 to renew JC for another year, and I am thinking of putting some non-intrusive ads up to help pay for bandwidth. Does anyone care? They would be those non-intrusive Google ads that seem to be everywhere these days. They seem to actually pay people. I would probably turn the ads off once we reached $156.

I forbid you to place ads on the site, and also I will not pay you any money for the site.

I believe I'm speaking for everyone here.

I'm mailing a check in the morning. I had no idea it was so much to have a domain. Now I feel REALLY bad about sponging off you.

Oh yeah, d-loaded the beaver songs I found there (hope you don't mind) Apparently we both used the same keyboard drums for our sit.

It only costs $10-$20/year to have a domain....the rest must be the colocation fees for the server.

Forever.

How are you going to make money off the ads if none of us click them?

Now let's say we aren't all satisfied with thinking running this site is your problem. Don't they require some amount of browsing and such?

I think we should click them on purpose to help our our pal Jonsey. Since I won't pay for any website (not even porn) then its a good option.

I will not click on any ads, since the moment I see an ad, I will leave and never return to this website.

I'd probably pay for porn if it wasn't so easy to steal.

Anyway, I really thought most of them didn't run simply off clicks. Is there a flat amount you get for putting the ad up?

He won't leave if Jonsey puts ads on the site. This place is too interesting to just self-ban because of advertising. Too many wacks and free thinking to ignore. In a way, it reminds me of a college dorm corkboard, only better.
