Boy, if only there were a convention in Vegas regarding it, with someone incurably crazy tagging along like Paul Panks.

Sorry, I meant to respond to that e-mail but put it off. Anyhow, I was figuring a C64 convention's scope would be a little too narrow to make the trip worth my while; I'd rather just meet up in Vegas and fill all the time ourselves.
To meet Panks is actually tempting, but only the appearance of Troy Miles or Ed Bogas would truly induce me to go to one of those things.

I bet it takes three times as long as normal to actually GET to the convention and when you do, anyone you talk to has to keep looking on a notebook for replies to your questions/comments. Then they will randomly freeze up and stare into space in the middle of a conversation, causing you to pound them on the side in frustration. You will then need to initiate the whole process over again.

Actually, you'll start a conversation with one of them, and it'll take 15 minutes to get an answer out of them.

Well, sure. It does pretty much become an excuse to carouse. Actually attending the C64-related items could be optional in Vegas, like pants.

Yeah, come on now Yogurt! Nobody is implying that there's going to be studying involved or that you have to take a test at the end of this. If it's been five minutes since downing indigo shit that could be anything from a blueberry martini to Ty-D-Bowl with rum in it then it's been far too long.
Is there even a keynote speaker here? Worth skipping, I'll guess. "Jack Tramiel -- Still Kind of an Asshole?" "30 Years Later, We Still Like a Shitty Platform," and "Hey, Who's Got an MP3 of The Blue Max Theme Song?" look like where the smart money is as far as I'm concerned.
Vegas has people who take an active dislike towards the hardware in question still dropping by. What a city!

What is there to convention about regarding the C=64 anyway? Is this like some high school reunion thingie where all the old school programmers get together, get drunk and whine about the lack of hi X bits in the Boulderdash series? seriously, what is new with the Commie these days? I remember seeing something about some kind of bastardized internet browser program, but really, why bother..

Well, the C-One is totally cool. And Contiki--the graphical OS with the TCP/IP stack--is also totally cool.
