Yes... for those of oyu who don't know--which is, now that i suddenly stop to think about it, all of you, I'm going to college this year, and I'm ding it in Anchorage--which is moving further north from Sitka here, which is in teh southeast portion of the state and is about an hour and a half planing away from Seattle. Anchorage, by contrast, is an hour and a half flying in basically the opposite direction. i mention all this to set up the joke that of all the places I choose to go it's further north, and I fucking live in Alaska. I make this joke to prove a simple point, which is that I am completely insane. I'm getting all packed up and shite, I leave Thursday morning. So, today's number of days until I leave this God-forsaken island is: 2

After looking it up on a map I must say that it looks nice and quiet there.
Just out of curiousity, are there such things as Alaskan rednecks? Or the equilivant thereof?

Yeah, they're called Native Americans.
...That was cruel of me, sorry. There are... well, I guess I don't quite understand your question. There are quite frankly too many Alaskan hunter-type people around, on the whole we're rather conservative, really. If that's what you mean.

Drive pickup trucks with (natch) huskies in the back. Drink Alaskan alcoholic drinks..(what kind of booze is made there, btw my geography teacher left out stuff like that back in school.)
All the stuff southern rednecks do but in the great white AMERICAN north, actually.

Overview of Sitka, Alaska
Sitka was the seaside capital of Russian America and a visit here is like stepping back in time to the 18th century. Visit St. Michael's Cathedral, one of the finest examples of rural Russian architecture. Stroll through the town's quaint shops and enjoy performances of Russian dancing. All of this entertaining history is presented under the shadow of stately Mr. Edgecumbe, a 3,201-foot-high, Fuji-like extinct volcano.
.....Is like stepping back into the 18th century.
yes. move now. get out.

Okay, I'm gonna go to bed now so you get to see my count-down thread early. (what makes it different from the times I thought this an hour ago, two hours ago, and three hours ago is that I actually will do it this time.) When I wake up tomorrow, I will be going... somewhere new! Somewhere different! Somewhere--ah fuck it, it's only a couple hundred miles and I've been there beefore, who the hell am I kidding? Regardless! This could be the last post ever made by Lysander on the Jolt Country BBS! Or anywhere else on the internet! (But it won't be, unfortunately.) All of which reminds me...
Ttoday's official countdown of time until Lysander goes away to college is: fuck it, it's too close for me to care.

Look, I really wanted to parody the song lyrics to "Leaving On a Jet Plane' with a lot of blind references and eskimo jokes but I cannot bring myself that low. Not when you are off to better yourself in a place of higher learning. It's killing me, but I won't go there

It must be rather difficult to mainstream in college with everyone else. Music theory without being able to see all the little black dots (that's what they look like, I assume you know what the color black is) Terribly daunting, if you ask me.

 Don't you know they're African-American dots? ANyway, yeah, taht music class is rapidly shooting into the stratosphere on my "most annoying classes ever" list. It's especially insulting to me because I am a music man. ...If you think taht was bad, scroll down to the shit about my cell phone. Heh, and then I went on JC and wrote up that thing about racism. Serandipity rules.
