Yes, ICJ just sent me these. I will now see if the article needs editing. I will then do a TIWMOGFLIA update, but not before posting to Pinback's SOAD thread. I declare tonight to be Lysander's catchup content evening!

I have now broke from the erect walking formation I had been going in all day to circle back right into you.

BBS Doc and the next Top 100 review go up tomorrow. In the meantime, more stuff has been crossed off the list.

Looks like the sax solo as a WAV is next on the list. I'm focused! Also, Jason was kind enough to link here from his blog at ascii.textfiles.com regarding the BBS: The Documentary review.

I was only kidding. Isn't that on the catchup content weekend original post? It should be! I bet I can post those this weekend.

Yes, it is, and you never did anythign with it, that's my point. I eve re-drafted it to you and you said you'd have it done "tonight". Unless this is like the night of one thousand shitty threads and is supposed to extend into infinity via clever wording, you've fucked it up again. Color me shocked.

To be fair, it wasn't posted because I was going to change the look and feel of the website and I didn't want to format it and then have to instantly format it again.

That being said, I haven't found a "look" I really like and am somewhat loathe to pay for it, though I guess that could be an option. I owe the government a couple grand in back taxes because I was listed as "married" on my W4 rather than "single" and therefore am sort of looking to trim expenses between now and April, if you're digging my ditch here.

At any rate, let me commit to Vark tonight because I've been a huge disappointment there and his involves hardware. This is a "for real" tonight -- Vitriola is at college, there are no movies like "Emily Rose" to waste my time with and my microswitch, sorry, Cherry microswitch buttons haven't shown up. Baby WHAT'S YER CLAIM TO FAME!

Which reminds me. I wish I was still in a band. Are there programs that now let you record to your hard drive and do all the tracking there as well? I could never get a direct connection to my Tascam for all instruments -- the sax, for instance, would always have that "noise" in the background because it wasn't a direct feed in. Multiply that by four and you have an enormous loss of quality. (And some would say the actual songs detracted further HONK HONK.)

Yeah, there's one or two.

I haven't clicked it yet, but does SourceForge imply that it is FREE? FREE???

I want to form a band. I now have the funds to rent instruments. I just need to find someone who can sing and someone who can play guitar.

I can sing.

...

Right, Pinner? I can sing right?

Anyway, souree forge does, indeed imply that i tis free. However i'd suggest actually, you know, trying the program(s) out so you can decide which one has the most workable interface and features and all that. Personally, I use GOld Wave, which a lot of people compare to Sound Forge in terms of editing capabilities. (compared, usually, unfavorably, but compared nonetheless, and it's a fraction of the price.) I haven't paid a dime on Gold Wave, either, as it's one of those fully-functional trial versions I just eep uninstalling and reinstalling. It's been such a good program for me, thoguh, that I would pay for it if I needed to. That said, Gold Wave, Sound Forge and (I think) Audacity (and maybe Audition?) are single-track recorders, so if you're going to do a multitrack recorder Sonar would be the way to go. Of course, if you want to go multitrack, I say buy a fucking mixing board with a hard drive and be done with it; you can do all the recording on a box that won't crash if you plug six things into it, put hte wave files on your computer, and then you can do all the editing of each track individually in a single-track thing like Audacity or Gold Wave or (wareZed) Sound Forge or what have you and then mix them all together when you're done.
