Is anyone playing Eve Online? Do you want to?

Free for two weeks and doesn't require a credit card.

Here's the link to "the big scam," which Pinner linked us to a while back.

OK, it doesn't work. I'll try to paste it in a different thread.

Oh, and this is because I can't find a decent single-player Elite game. WHAT THE FOCK.

I tried the free trial (which didn't require a credit card, that's nice).

It's so boring, it will fucking take the breath out of you.

Let me elaborate.

EVE Online is so boring, when it sits around the house, everyone in the house leaves.

EVE Online is so boring, when someone said it was chilly outside, everyone outside to get away from EVE Online.

During the tutorial I came to a point where I had to CAMP for an item. It wasn't teaching me how to camp, but I couldn't continue without the item.
Good point Bobby!

But I understand you can sit there and let it play and do other things.

I can't tell you how much a game like that would appeal to me. I honestly have a terrible attention span these days, plus I have two months left to get an IF game done.

Why not just eliminate the middle man and do other things?

Well, I feel bad for the poor middle man. It reminds me of those stores you see in ski towns where they are not selling anything you'd buy normally, like wooden toys, but rely on your sympathy to keep going. They are sympathy stores.

Plus, the Big Scam is one of the best written things ever, and who wouldn't want to be a part of that?

Plus, I need an Elite clone badly.

Also: hold up, hold up, maybe this -- http://shrapnelgames.com/digital_eel/weird_worlds/1.htm is what I've been looking for. I'll keep everyone posted!!!

(The link is to a game called Weird Worlds. There is an indie gaming RSS feed that works with Google, and I am LUVIN it.)

Rock and roll! I'll be signing up tonight. Pilot name: Ice Cream Jonsey of the good ship Int 21h if the game lets me call myself / my ship that, which I imagine it won't. Release your frustrations by destroying my life pod! Give me isk! Either way, join up!

NOTE: Pinback's out, so if that was gonna be a problem for any of you, don't worry about it. He says he's "not much of a gamer anymore."

I already used up my two week trial and got bored with the whole thing. The game is one big argument for "Turns per day".
