Baldurs Gate in the Baldurs Gate 2 engine!

It's called BGTutu, which is stupid. It's got a stupid installer which I hear is a real fucking pain in the ass. There might be spoilers here for a 8 year old game. Be wary timesurfers!

So someone made EasyTutu! It takes a BG1 Installation up to TOTSC combines it with Shadows of Amn or Throne of Bhaal! The product? Baldurs Gate 1 in the BG2 Engine with a load of mods made for it.

These include more NPC interactions, BG1 Romances(shar-teel always reddened my meat), some DnD scenarios(one is 200mb), new characters(some dumb ones, some stupid ones), kits in BG1 (I'm a neutral evil skald ;) ), some improvments like removing the level cap, and something to make the interface look like BG1. However, everything goes into one big list. So if you decide you don't want the Icewind Dale spell graphics afterall, you've gotta wait a few minutes before going to get the second screen shot.

The first time I played through BG1 as a Necromancer(who kind of blow) I missed Gorion's letter and had no clue I was the Bhaal Spawn. None of the NPCs ever said anything. I played through again when TSOTC came out as a Dwarven Fighter and saved that build for Baldurs Gate 2. One time before he got turned to stone Khalid said one thing to Jaheria, this might have been scripted, but it amazed me. So imagine my wonder at this!

She's talking about a quest! A quest I forgot about.

Banter!

There are draw backs. Whoever did the romance scripts didn't realize that breaking the entire thing for one mistaken phrase was a BAD CHOICE in Baldurs Gate 2. It seems a little more sensical, but you still need to check global variables to see if you broke the relationship. Other than that, it's really the only way to replay Baldurs Gate. There is some bug with Beregost, I've only noticed a few crashes to desk top there, so I've just been making an in/out beregost save file.

Probably return to our regularly scheduled modcast in a few days.

You have become the poster I always knew you could be. It's like I was playing a real-life game of Princess Maker 2 these last four years. Excellent work.

I'm glad you enjoyed my post!

Try out the thing, there's a pretty hefty investment of installing all of BG1 and all of BG2, then letting the bgtutu installer clone giant directories and move around huge dialog.tlks, but after that it's pure awesome. You can delete your BG1 install and forget it ever existed.

As for PM2, I always ended up with a dykey warrior who dies alone. Never once could swing the Princess.
