Orchids are for cool kids!

Post by milker »

Ok, bought my first Orchid ever tonight at of all places Home Depot. Believe it or not they actually have orchids there along with dem dare Nascar Hotdogs! (couple a big boys for ya!)

So, I hear in these parts there happens to be a gal who might know alot about said plant.

Virtriola, this is your chance to shine. Tonight is your night BRO!

What exactly have you had success with in caring for orchids? Do I need to sing the plant songs or ask it if it needs a ham sandwich?

Let me know, I am scared.

Hold me......

Dinosaur Poop

Post by milker »

So, I did some reading and now understand fricken Orchids are like COCKroaches. They have been around since dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Man, what a fascinating little bundle of beauty these plants hide.

Not to mention they grow in BOGS!

I am totally floored and am having a hard time grasping the pure knowledge rush I am getting from this $20.00 orchid.

I am gonna go massage the damn leaves and kiss the damn thing.

Be right back....

One hundred and twenty million years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, a magnificent flowering plant came into being—the orchid. Evolution led to the demise of many plants and animals, but the orchid flourished, thriving on every continent save Antarctica. Orchids have adapted to live in all kinds of environments—mountains, bogs, grasslands and rainforests. At least 35,000 orchid species now populate the planet—and there is always the possibility that unknown species still await discovery.

Forget orchids, milker. Forget orchids altogether.

Instead, buy Uruc-hids. They're essentially super orchids. They are faster, stronger, and larger than normal orchids and have a resistance to sunlight.

Post a picture. Anything you buy at HD os going to get the same basic care, but it helps to know what it is. It's going to be either a Dendrobium, Phalaenopsis, or some Oncidiaalalala whatever family intergeneric hybrid, but I need to know in order to tell you what to expect. Does it have a label? Read to us the label.
