Apparently while I was in Vegas, we had some variety of a "falling out" here. Though the details are still very sketchy, and I really don't know much about what's going on, or whether it's even appropriate to post about here publicly, I'll ignore all that and just stir the pot a little!

There is little to really tell. Notified by the guy on Orc's Head, I was made aware of a link to a Live Journal that had a bunch of crap that Pinner and I had written over the last three years, only Gerrit's life was substituted in and ours out. After CGG caught the thread he took the LJ off-line.

Now listen to me. All of you. I DON'T CARE. Gerrit, I know you're out there. Nobody cares, man. If it at all helped you get laid or get work or move into a cooler social circle then that is great. It's the Internet for Christ's sake. If I gave a damn about it I'd put it in a PDF and sell it on Lulu.com for the love of Christ. Nobody cares one way or the other.

What we DO care about is that Gerrit in some way, shape or form, acknowledges that this occurance actually happened and that we are all not crazy. I am beginning to worry about him but more, wonder if he is truly a one-person sentient like the rest of you purport to be. Who IS ChainGangGuy? Why does he look so very different in every recorded instance? Is he one man or many? What's going on here? I have spoken to him on the phone so perhaps some of these questions are exaggerated. But perhaps not.

All I know is that I want my friend back. My friend Gerrit.

I care, simply because i don't KNOW about it. Like, my opinion is shit here because nobody was ripping me off (and who would, I have nothing to rip off) but what would this forum be without everyone posting their opinions about everything? I agree with Robb in that the actual copying of content is not the issue. What is the issue for me (or would be the issue for me if anyone bothered to steal from me) is just not knowing about it. If some guy pops up and says "Hey, I thought htat was funny, can I use it?" I'd be all, "sure! as long as I have credit, and put meyemail down or something would you?" If he sais "Er, actually, I wanted to say that I wrote it myself" well, then, i probably still wouldn't mind all that much. Hey, it's flattery! If people think what I'm writing is good enough to be ripped off then i guess I'd better start taking things more seriously. (But it isn't, so I don't. Whew! Thank gOd for that, dodged a bullet there.) If some guy needs the boost to impress his friends or help pass a test or what-have-you I could give a shit, i'm not trying to sell anything or command some sort of el33t army of netizens by the shit I put on here. But i'd just like to know about it. And i"d like to know where it is, sotthat I c acn check it out, and see if someone responds to it in some way I hadn't expected. I enjoy that kind of thing very much. I'm a little put-out that all of these people were enjoying the content over THERE and not over HERE where tehy could contribute, but knowing this forum we'd probably make them run away crying when they ask us what TV to buyt o something.

You know, Ben's dad is probably buried under his house, lysander went blind from masturbation, ICJ and Milker play HeroClix, and I probably would eat a dead baby if someone gave me one, fresh natch. Is it really so fucking bothersome that Gerrit discovered his own way of high level alienation over the internet?

ICJ, wanna add a phone-number field for profiles and admin use? That way in the future you could make obscene phone calls when people puss out and get wives.
