USURPER I: Sword of Destiny

Hey guys, I am either gonna publish a Donationware project from either ACK 2.0 or RapidQ... It will be an old skool RPG, but at the same time, it is action oriented... I place my project as Donationware, because Mr. Sonick has a point... Who would buy a retro game? You may choose to give me at most 5 USD in a future Paypall site... But you may choose not to altogether. I call this project Usurper... Aye, I have a history of unfinished products... But ever since I finished my first demo ep of Draconiis Satanae Blackestra, I knew I could do anything I put my mind to. Right now, I gotta work on coding for controling of the sprites, collision codes, and the use of status bars for Armor Health and Player Health... The weapon use is simple, like Zelda... A new weapon gives you less hits to kill your target.

*** Characters to Play ***

Fighter - You can go to the Warrior's Guild
Thief - To the Thieve's Guild with thee!!
Magic-User - It's a given, MAGIC GUILD!

Mind you this is possible on RapidQ, while ACK 2.0 is more RPG oriented.

If you are a programmer with knowledge of RapidQ, you can help out a RPG old timer for this game to work!

Take it easy

Magic-users don't get enough love in these sorts of games. But that's the one I always picked in Gauntlet. He was just so goofy looking. He did kind of need the other guys to defend him, to really prosper, however.

The Magic-User and all that jazz

Jup, I am gonna make the Magic-User just as useful as anyone. But his Armor Health is limited. When chosing the characters, they will have unique attack commands:

Fighter will have melee (SWORD command)
Thief will have Missile (THROW command)
And the Magic-User will have Magic (SPELL command)

Attack items will be given unto the Player independently from a Quest... You can get a Quest from the Guild you preside in. I may include a journal so that you won't get lost. The Towns and castles are nonscrolling, and when travelling out on open ground (Overmap), you actually choose your path of travel on a Map like Final Fantasy Tactics... No worries you won't have to fight a random fight... Just click on the location where a fight is, then you can level up.

Take heed, this is not like your everyday Utlina or any clone! It is inspired by the dark stories of Blood Omen 1: LoK, and Warhammer...

Adventure On

Right now, I have a mock form made from RapidQ IDE, it is very easy to make one, but a *beep* to keep up with events... Right now for the moment, I am going to use one moving sprite, and the others are none moving... I know that is so sui intermediate, but I intend future realses to be like this, as a Heroes of MnM clone RPG, and maybe a Disciples Battle game in the future... Man was Disciples gorgeous with graphics... Usurper is still on course... But if I want to make a HoMnM or Disciples clone, I gotta learn how to use sprite pathing, and multiple moving sprites, should not be too hard... I need to figure out lots of stuff. But anyways Usurper will be a great project for me to learn how to make an Adventure RPG...

BTW, Vitriola (sic), I liked the Usurper album with King Diamond! :D But my fav Black Metal band ever, SARGEIST (which is not really German for Coffin Spirit, it would be Sargegeist/Sargengeist, for Sargeist is Coffin Wares)

Finland has a great shining (or may I say, Darkening) Future in Black Metal

I was not a fan of sargeist, even though i didn;t mind them.

More a fan of Swedish black and German and Polish black, as well as Norwegian, natch.

Astriaal from Australia is also worth mention.

I hate USBM.
