An exciting development!
In 1991 GDA released a sequel, Whodunit?, and in 1992 a third installment, Jungle of Doom. Nitemare 3-D, a game that came out in 1994, is arguably the fourth (and so far final) installment of the Hugo series, though Nitemare 3-D, instead of being an adventure game, is a Wolfenstein 3D clone, in which Hugo ventures into the haunted mansion to rescue Penelope by shooting enemies with several types of guns. The Hugo Trilogy can also be found on The Complete Encyclopedia of Games for DOS.
I had no idea. That being said, if my girlfriend were kidnapped by some motherfuckers for the fourth time, I'd probably stop bothering to grue the spellbreaker with the babel fish and instead enter the building where I was sure she was and just start fucking shooting.

In this way, Hugo turns the spot where Penelope's has been stashed into his own personal house of horrors.

I had a demo of that game on a Valu-Soft shareware compilation CD. It was actually pretty good.

That's pretty funny! I played the Hugo games because I had an ancient laptop that could pretty much run it & nothing else. I love the idea of Hugo, one day, just going Postal.
