Knuckles, your help is always appreciated. I have one question for you though: are you sure you are angry enough?

Suggestions are quite welcome as this is a list that is still being formed from the terrible ether of the terrible. It is not arcade games only though! Although it does just encompass video and computer games. There was some question in the previous thread about whether or not the maze on the back of a Friendly's menu counted or not, and it's best to get these things squared away from the get-go.

one of the reasons I asked is that there have been horrible game programs for the Commodore 64 (amongst other systems) and getting the top 50 worst would be like a Sunday drive through hell's cesspool. I figure limiting the list to arcade games would make the pain less er.. painful.

Matter of fact, I will now link to a couple three C64 games that I once owned and played to demonstrate the icepick to brain via nostril feeling that one can get.

Ouch! Did I really play that?

#2 Break Street. A break dancing game that almost killed me. help me

Anyway, there is a lot of garbage out there!

Aw, c'mon, you still ended up putting several hours into Break Street (I know I did) despite the ways that it was horrible. Just for that, it can't be on the list.

edit: Oops, actually following your link, I see that I am not thinking of the right game. According to lemon64.com, it was called "Ghettoblaster" (which I remember from the game) but I totally remember my copy of it being called "Break Street." Go figure.

second edit: Actually reading the entry, I see that it was called "Street Beat." So, yeah, don't add that game to the list.

Break Street should be more famous! It doesn't even have a Wikipedia entry. In fact, the entry for breakdancing mentions video games BUT NOT IT. I don't know what Wikipeople think you were doing in Break Street, apparently stealing televisions?

But seriously, brother, if you truly wish to be a part of this, acknowledging this desire in some way would be for the best. On that note, I am readying #50! I am pretty sure that all of you will think it is fucking horrible, so we'll start out on the right foot, unlike the other list.

So....Number 50 would be the best worse game of all time and number 1 would be the worst worst game. OK I am now clarified. Like butter.

I don't care where they are on the list, but:

Custer's Revenge, It's Only Rock 'n' Roll, and Moonwalker all better be on it.

I had never heard of It's Only Rock and Roll! Guess I have some SHITTY GAMING to do.

Also, I maintain to this day that if Custer's Revenge:

1) Had better graphics
2) Rotated the chicks so you were always questing for a different 5, hotter one
3) Had better collision detection (the spears do not go down to the screen all the way, I assume because of how the 2600 handles that shit) ...

... that it would have been a fun game. Perhaps I need to add that on my "make a game" queue, currently scheduled to be completed in Fall, 2029. "Make a fun version of Custer's Revenge."

I will converse with my brother one more time on this and start the list.

I'm looking forward to the list, because I'm sure Robb has some entries in mind apart from the ones that show up on every "worst games ever" list.

OH HO THAT SUPERMAN 64 IT SURE WAS BAD
OH HO THAT BIG RIGS IT SURE WAS BAD
OH HO THAT E.T. IT SURE WAS BAD

Yeah, E.T. wasn't that bad, for the 2600. People have skewered Superman 64, so that's all set. Seanbaby made stuff like White Men Can't Jump his own. And then we already talked about General Custer.

What offends me, I guess, are games with potential that are horribly broken. Say what you will about Pac-Man for the 2600, but it wasn't buggy. Plus, by only doing 50, you can say, "Oh, yes, the famously terrible ones start at #51!" And hopefully everyone is OK with it.

Anyway, are you doing all video game platforms or just arcades?

Maybe separate but equal?

I was watching a bunch of those C64 longplay videos on youtube and reminiscing. Seems I'd rather just watch them now than try and get them working the way I want and sucking at them.
