Jolt Country

I have a friend in town this week who has been talking about Soju for a while. It's Korean alcohol (apparently). I decided to pick up a bottle while he was in town.

I visited/called about five liquor stores before I found it. When I did find it, it was in a liquor store that was Korean owned. He said they had Korean and Japanese Soju; I went with Korean (Jinru, I t hink).

Here's what I discovered. Soju is a lot like Vodka, but is basically tasteless. We mixed ours with just a touch of Sunny D, Cranberry Juice and Pineapple Juice, and I never really tasted the alcohol.

But boy oh boy do I feel it this morning. Oh, vey. It's going to be a long work day today.

(We have a team of people from out of town this week; normally I don't drink on weekdays!)

Cool, never heard of it. Vodka, also, is supposed to be tasteless too. Key word supposed to be.

While cleaning yesterday, I found some pills left over from my brother's crackhead ex girlfriend. Of course I popped them immediately, 3 percosets and an ambien. DAMMMNN I haven't slept that good in awhile. I can see how this crap is habit forming.

She was BAAAD though - didn't even know what she was doing half the time. In our old apartment, the building had the wonderful idea of having white carpet wall to wall. Thought it made it look more spacious or something? I think it was just a scam to ensure fresh carpet every tenant. Kiss the security deposit goodbye. Courtney(bleh) and my bro were over, ready to go out and 'tear the club up, yo'. She knocked over a planter with a cactus in it and threw dirt all over the white carpet. After berating her thoroughly and trying to get her to clean it up and her just standing there like a zombie, we all pitched in and started to clean it up for her. After shaking our heads in disgust. After a minute or two, she starts whining. COME ON GUYS, what are we doing? what's taking so long? I wanna get to the club and drrriiinnkkk....
completely oblivious.

pills are bad, mmkay? Don't do drugs.

I've known a few pill-poppers who were okay and a few alcoholics who were okay, but I haven't met anyone who both drinks and pops pills and continues to be a functioning part of society (or at least "not constantly annoying"). Ruining carpet, putting holes in walls, missing dinner because they "hadn't got out of bed yet" ... yeah, been there, dropped them.
