I just wanted to say that I will probably be more-or-less reading this forum:

For text game discussions in the future, as opposed to the newsgroups. The Usenet groups are easy to access, but a pain in every other way. Plus, Mike Snyder has done a wonderful job maintaining the forum for a few years now.

I'll still be posting here, of course, and I get a lot of my text game itch scratched at the ifMud, but - look, I'm just saying, is all.

And Robb has done nothing but complain about how terrible that forum is since he first went there, so I'm not sure the newsgroups weren't the way to go on this one.

The forums are great. You can discuss INTERACTIVE FICTION games there, like CHOICE OF ROBOTS and UNTIL DAWN.

Yeah, cramming two distinct communities that hate each other into one place wasn't a great idea, but the motivation for going there was to solve the problem of the laughably tedious dumbfuck losers who either trolled raif and rgif non-stop, or who weren't trolling, like Breslin and Poster, who actually had retarded opinions and would gleefully express them at the drop of a hat. Sometimes we give Tdarcos a hard time for saying the same thing over and over, but he had nothing on the losers at rec.arts.int-fiction. In that respect, it was a rousing success.

Usually the moderation is the worst part of any form (see: you guys calling for Mays to be banned and me doing it, like a fucko chump) but the moderation at the site over there is actually very good! They actually care and aren't power-drunk jerks like most mods at most places.
