First time since 1949 if you believe Wikipedia.

nothing like a cultural phenomenon ending to make you realize your mortality. I first heard about this guy (or guys) when I was like ten years old. I didn't even know who E.A. Poe was then.

That's all folks. Guess he's not coming back. Kinda sucks. Like when a movie star that's been around forever kicks off. Gives you that mortality check.
