What's on the desk

I have an object on my computer desk. Your job is to determine what the object is, based on highly intelligent questions.

I may only answer yes or no to these questions.

There can only be (15) fifteen questions, so ask wisely.

if, after fifteen questions, you still do not know what the object is, you will all be required to eat a plate of shit at your local Wal-Mart. Please post photos.

If, after fifteen question (or less), you DO guess what the object is, I will post a FULL COLOR PHOTO of the object!

This is an all-play round so everyone registered here should pose at least ONE question (bots don't count).

How would you describe, in great detail please, the nature of the object?

(How'd I do?)

My question: Now that Bugs has won the game, do you want me to lock the thread or what?

The answer to Bug's question (1) is ...No.

The answer to locking the thread is ...No.

Thirteen questions left. OK fourteen, as locking the thread is not relevant.

I reject the "eat shit on a plate at Wal-mart" requirement because (1) there is no Wal-Mart within about a three hour trip from me (2) it's an unreasonable trip requirement which, as a disabled man, I have the right to refuse as failing to provide "a reasonable accommodation" pursuant to the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008.

Besides, "we don't do quizzes here".

If it's just for fun I'd like play along and pre-empt the other guy's question "Does it have a cord?" and replace it with "Is it powered by electricity, either mains, battery or via usb?"

This question eliminates anything non-powered. Or the reverse depending on whether it uses power or not.

My question might be more useful but yours does give some information, I just think not enough. Otherwise I'll submit my question. I mean, my keychain has a cord, it might lead us in the wrong direction. Also my electric postage scale uses power but doesn't have a cord (actually it does, you can run it on battery or using the power cord, but the cord is not currently attached).

My second question if I get a next round and the answer was yes, is, "Does the item connect to a computer to transfer data?" (this then restricts the questions to input/output devices)

Possible questions (which I am not now asking): Does the item transfer visual images or sound to the computer? (If yes, it can't be the monitor)

Does the item provide electronic storage? (if yes it can't be a web camera but could be a hard drive)

Does the item have its own display such as an lcd on a calculator provides characters or does it have a video display? (this determines if it might be the monitor or an MP3 or MP4 player)

Since we only have 20 questions you want them to be very broad at first in order to exclude as much territory and non-relevant items as possible before going to specifics.

I want to just guess.....

Is it a dead cat? Copy of the Catcher in the Rye? Clothing made from the skin of size 14 girls living in a hole in your basement?

I thought this was one of those cheesy Saturday Night Live fake "high culture" skits they do from time-to-time.

You can eat shit on a plate at home then.

BANNED!

Sorry, I have to answer queries in the order that they are received, Just like a help desk.
To answer Straw's question (2).. No, it does NOT have a cord.

"Is it powered by electricity, either mains, battery or via usb?"
To answer Tdarcos' question (3)... Yes, it is powered by electricity. Battery powered.
Does the item connect to a computer to transfer data?"
To answer Tdarcos' question (4)... No, it does NOT connect to a computer.

To answer Knuckle's questions (don't count as he's not really trying yet)... Not a dead cat on my desk. Not 'Catcher in the Rye' on my desk. (which would be difficult as I only have the audiobook) The only thing living in my basement are two dead snowblowers. Which could be some kind of oxymoron, or something, I dunno.

Just for the sake of clarity, I will sum up after every five questions.
Also for the sake of clarity please ask official questions in caps. I like the surmises and thinking out loud stuff but don't want for you to use up all the chances by just throwing guesses out here. I had to make a couple edits to keep the countdown straight and don't want to mess this up by mis- counting.

I thought my question really got the short shrift.

So it's battery operated, and not used for serial murder. Ok.
That rules out a battery-powered hand axe, little else.

Was it made in China?

Since my handle ends in s you pluralize it by an apostrophe at the end alone, e.g. "Tdarcos' question".

Okay, no computer connection gets rid of any e-book, mp3 player, web cam, speakers, mouse, keyboard. Battery power eliminates lamps, regular telephones, but doesn't eliminate flashlights.

A cell phone can be connected to a computer so it eliminates cell phones.

Oh, he said it does not have a cord. That also eliminates regular desk telephones. Eliminates wireless telephones as the base does have a cord. That might eliminate flashlights because they often have lanyards. Eliminates headphones (cord). Eliminates bluetooth headsets as they can connect to a computer.

Eliminates appliances such as a refrigerator or microwave oven as it's sans cord and runs on batteries.

Could be a fan. Could be a tape recorder. Could be a radio. Could be a snapshot camera.

Hmm, battery, no cord and not computer connected.
But is it commonly on a desk? This is tough and I don't want to waste questions.

Question: DOES THE DEVICE GENERATE, USE OR PROCESS VISUAL IMAGES OR SOUND?
