OK, I've been putting off squashing the last couple of bugs in this.
This is a straight port of an ANSI C version of "Hammurabi" I found on the net. If any of you guys feel up to it and give it a whirl let me know if it blows up on you. I'll correct whatever remaining issues .... er, remain and post it on the archive in a week or so.

In the scanty 3 minutes that I spent with it, I noticed the following:
1) I cannot utilize the 'about' command.
2) The game allows me to buy/plant in negative numbers and reports stats in negs..i.e. '-9 population'.

Hm... negative population... remarkable, captain.
Or... perhaps the game is modeling your unspoken desire to brother-voodoo up your dead citizens so you can kill them again with sickness, toil and disease, you fiend!!
But alas, that should be easy to fix. Thanks for the heads-up!

Then the Ruler prayed for guidance to About the mighty.
But About did not answer and many died.

This is really neat (uh oh -- dated myself) but I noticed that the About doesn't work so I'm not sure what the goal is, or how long it ought to last. I've been too lazy to download an emulated version to find out!
I've tried different strategies, like, for instance starving the population to accumulate land. (Gets the slackers off the welfare rolls) I don't know if the game is supposed to be moral or you're supposed to run Babylonia like the current gansters run this country. Why should I distribute food if I'm in charge. What's in it for me?

OK, I never sent this to the archive. I removed the "about" thing but didn't add support to remove negative numbers. I am wondering whether I should, as the original version never had any sort of code in it to deal with it... I'm wondering if it would muck what little educational or comparative purposes the source would have. (I am releasing the source with the .hex file.)
At any rate, I mentioned this on the ifMud as well. If no other problems aside from the negative number thing rise up, I'll probably then upload it to the archive. (It's at the same URL as in the OP of this thread.)
