Anyone else catch the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame inductions tonight? The Police played, first time in 18 years.

Lordy. They need to tour again. Sting needs to get off his pretentious, Jaguar-endorsing arse and get on the road with his old mates. I used to think I had seen all the music acts I wanted to see (the use of a time machine notwithstanding), and could die happy. But now I need to see a Police reunion tour.

Also, they should have never allowed another three-piece rock act to exist after The Police. (That's right - Screw Nirvana. Screw Green Day harder. Add one more cutesy alternative kid in red pants to the White Stripes, and screw them sideways.)

I read somewhere that the Police were practicing for some function or another (maybe this one) and they were at each other's throats within minutes. Not in a "fuck this shit, I'm quitting!!!" sort of way, but still.

Sometimes I wish that I could live in the reality where the Police didn't break up. How many bands just stop after their best record? How many bands can put together an album that contains the words "A HUMILIATING KICK IN THE CROTCH" and have the good sense to say, "Oi, we're not going t'top that! Har ahar!"?

Yeah... They were always like that. Sort of brotherly animosity.
