Now that the holidays are over I can try. Oh wait, the saying is "do or don't do but no try" so I will do this. I'm even joining the golds gym in my company's building and as of today cutting out sugar sodas or anything unhealthy eaten at work. Can I paypal the entrance fee to anyone right away so I'm invested and can't jap out? I'll find a scale this week and see where i'm starting at.

Repost:
I'm feeling that except for a few specific instances, my weight isn't that much of a motivating factor for me - yes, its an added benefit to a host of other things but as a singular entity, the idea doesn't drive me.
Increasing my endurance, being able to go to a martial arts class and focus on the lesson as opposed to the aspect of enduring the physical stress, is more pertinent than merely slimming down.
With this in mind, let me outline my goals for 2012 in regards to HEALTH.
GOALS FOR the F.A.C.
Weight - 190 pounds Miles / Time - Six or more miles at / 60 minutes of running time Resting Pulse - 65
Current Stats Weight - 211 Miles / Time - 2.5 / 25 minutes Resting Pulse - 83
Would someone mind picking an end date for the 2012 Fat Ass Challenge?
EDIT - 2012 Before Picture
mmm.... Pork Sung Bun.

Is there a buy in?
Who is coordinating the buy in?
If there isn't a buy in, I'll add five dollars to a fund to be rewarded to the first person who dies, so they can afford the extra wide option on their coffin.
HOW TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE
Die with a BMI of 30 or higher, proving you are obese and you will be rewarded FIVE DOLLARS that is meant to go towards purchasing an extra wide style coffin to hold your now statistical, fat ass.
PS I'm not a very nice person.

We need strictly defined goals. Now that all the posers are gone, we can focus on people who actually want to pay up. We all know you're going to win this thing anyway, Retro, but whatever. The important thing is, we are trying. It was a noble idea to try to bring people in from elsewhere, but it was also an unmitigated disaster.
Let's make the deadline March 31st. My race is the weekend before and an extra week will keep me honest.
I dropped five pounds in the last one and have since gained two of them back. I am a piece of human excrement. This is unacceptable. I "blamed" the weather. If I lived on the Tropic of Wyrm, I'd have never stopped running. The time for excuses is over. I will jog 5K a night and if I don't feel like it because my pussy is cold, I'll walk it in full winter gear.
Starting Codex Ident: 232.8
Goal Codex Ident: Still 202. But I'm gonna keep this realistic. My goal is 219.8. That gets me under 220 and I can coast there for a while. It's only 13 pounds. Jesus Mary, Mother of God, if I don't do this IMMEDIATELY I'm gonna be on frigging blood pressure pills soon.

Couch to 5K: One Hundred and Twenty Minutes
As Jonsey as been pounding out miles on his quest to run 3.1 miles, I have also been diligent in running and other such exercises.
Currently, my gym schedule can be broken down as follows...
Every other (or On) Day -
1) 60 minutes of phase 1 of the Couch to 5k (currently totaling 6 miles)
2) Weight lifting for another hour
Every off day -
1) One hour of "fun" walking such as backward walking (regular activity for me (though the torque I put on my right leg has forced me to decrease it from one hour to twenty minutes)), regular "power walking," or time on an elliptical machine.
2) An hour of yoga.
The routine occurs every other day for three sessions, then two days off (and I've only missed two sessions because of mild depression, stress, or just feeling comatose). The result has been an increase in endurance, over 650 calories burned due to exercise, and just feeling more fit.

OK! So, I maintained five pounds of weight loss from the previous Fatass Challenge 2011. Not too bad, really. I'm back to focusing on moderate exercise and eating light. Why, I'm leisurely flipping through a Cooking Light magazine as we speak!

Ok, so I'm basically where I was when the first challenge started. I wasn't sure I was going to enter this again, but recent developments have given me some fun events later this year to look forward to so might as well use that as weight loss motivation.[/i]

Well, actually it's just one thing, and it's just a wedding. Still, it's a wedding in northern Wisconsin, and I was asked if I'd be willing to dj the post rehearsal dinner celebration. I guess the venue will be the stage of some converted summer camp. It'll be in August so there's just that chance that it could be a beautiful yet memorable summer evening.
It wouldn't hurt to give myself a more immediate deadline, but I thought this would be a good start.

Tipped in at 195 yesterday. Lowest weight since I was 25. My doctor will be so happy. All motivation is because of this thread. Thank you, everyone!

Two weeks with no progress. I can't believe I haven't solved this shit yet. Jesus Christ. I seriously loathe my very existence. Oh don't get me wrong, this isn't one of those situations where you did all the right things and saw no change. I did NOTHING and saw no change. (Or it get worse.)
And an arcade game is broken, which means I get nothing else done until I fix it, as that is the "line in the sand" for me when it comes to whether I live like a slob or not.

Because of medical reasons, I'm unable to stick to anything even resembling my normal diet or go running / lift weights / be even mildly active.
So I'm unofficially pulling out of this round.
