In the past, there have been times that I've wished DescribePlace was a bit more modifiable. For instance, I think there might be times I want to do the "ICJ" thing where characters are listed last, without short_desc's. I also kind of like for my rooms to have a "double spaced" feel so that text is broken up more.

I modified DescribePlace to do both of these things, although it took an extra array, global and attribute to do it. I'm sure it's much too ugly to become anything official, and considering how much I had to bash my head against it to work, there are probably still some big bugs. Still, I hope that anyone who's interested about such a thing checks it out:

I have a tiny little space game that I throw all your mods into. This will be one such mod, and that will be one such experiment. I am going to fire it up and throw it over there right now!

Also, we really need to get an Amazon eBook out. "Hugo Mods by Roody Yogurt" or something. (By "we" I mean "I need to do that with the amazing, outstanding and just plain killer work you are doing.)

I've since updated that DescribePlace to use the DESCFORM_F FORMAT mask instead of a global. Along those lines, I've also made a new PrintStatusLine replacement that goes further in emulating the "Infocom style":
