What the fuck happened?

Post by Tdarcos Legal Dept. »

I thought I was extremely careful, trying to be relevant and keeping my posts under the line limit. Jonsey has now disabled my account and hasn't told me what I did wrong. I have no idea what the fuck I did wrong.

If I supposedly was his friend, you'd think he'd add 5 seconds to the time it takes to disable my account to tell me how I fucked up.

Bastard.

And then - as you pointed out on tonight's Don Rogers Abortion - you don't even bother to show up there.

But if you had a limit on number of postings, you should have said that. My understanding was that it was just too much to have a huge number of lines in a message.

Aw fuck it, it doesn't even matter any more.

OK, let's do this. Tell me if this sounds good. Let's throw out all the other rules and try this:

1) You try to fit your posts into 10 lines.

2) Let someone else reply to a thread before posting twice consecutively

3) NO MORE GODDAMN QUOTES.

Is that fine? Does that work? If that works for you I will never, ever bring up even in jest "changing the rules" or anything, EVER. Not here, not elsewhere, it is an OFF-LIMIT TOPIC. (And anyone, even Ben, who tries to pretend the rules have changed can be safely ignored.) I will not tease you about posting rules or make jokes about it.

See, he is going to ignore this and then post a billion-line message again.

After I was on the show, I went to bed. I just got up. Yeah, this sounds fine.

Just one thing, if someone says that they waive the line limit, then it applies to me, and if they're not allowed to the misconduct is charged to them. (I don't expect this to happen but this way someone can't entrap me into breaking the rules.)

Not everyone stays up all night; I was tired yesterday night, if I hadn't promised I was going to be on the show I'd have gone to bed before 10.

And it means that I can't post more than two consecutive messages in the non-troll room area unless someone replies. (This was done as two messages for comedic reasons.)
Or does it? "posting twice consecutively" can be read either way, to posting more than two messages in a row or posting one message then posting a consecutive message. I interpreted it as the former, to mean posting more than two messages. Or if I wanted to be a "rules lawyer," posting 3 messages in a row is not "posting twice consecutively" since that could be interpreted as 4 messages. (This has been kind of fun.)

Also, one of the rules was an original or response posting regarding adventure games (as long as it is reasonably related to the person's question) in those bases are exempted from the line limit. I'd like to extend that to any public question related to programming, so that if I need to I can give program code examples.

If anyone but me ever mentions it, just ignore them.

OK, what I mean is the thing you did in this thread. You can post twice in a row in different threads. But don't reply to a thread and then immediately reply again in that same thread. Wait for someone else to post in that thread first.

You can compress your text here:

That way you can shorten it without losing any information.

I have added two more rules for Paul that start now:

4) NO MORE GODDAMN QUOTES.

5) When you go over 10 lines in a post more than 5 times, your account is disabled for two weeks. Then it is re-enabled.

I have edited the original post of mine to reflect this.

Well what the fuck, dude. What the fuck is that? "I've already given up." Then give up already ON LIFE. I am going to try to find a mod that lets people ignore users. But it's a big, frightening, scary world out there and you're going to see opinions you can't stand and people you don't want to read. Don't be one of those guys who infect the Rock Paper Shotgun threads who think the world wants to know what games they won't be playing. Don't be that guy.

It's clear that Paul feels this is the last place in the world that accepts him. YOU were the guy telling the rest of us not to tease him. But you can't stand him and want to see him kicked off.

Alright, alright... Sorry for being 15 and overly saturated with hormones. Tdarcos will do what he'll do and I'll remember that your all great people and respond accordingly.

Also I tried to find the ignore user mod but it requires the "easymod" password which I don't have at the moment.

I am thinking of you Retro, I just need more time! More time!!

I want to reiterate that Paul is an absolute, 100% Grade A genius on the radio and on Caltrops; I just can't stand his posts on Jolt Country.

Which brings up a whole new question, why? Obviously, on radio I'm using my verbal IQ and thinking differently than I would in written form. My sister says that your IQ rises as you get older. She once asked me a few years ago what my IQ was and I said that, when I was 12, I was tested; I had a verbal IQ of 130 and a written IQ of 95 for an average IQ of 115. Her response? "Oh that's ridiculous, my IQ is 144 and you're obviously smarter than me."

But that does beg the question a bit as to why, since in both the case of JC and CT I'm responding in writing. I have an idea but it's not nice. This is small group, fairly bright people. Caltrops isn't huge group but is much larger and user population isn't as bright, so I tend to shine better. And maybe because you can screen me out; you only see titles and don't see my post there unless you click on it.

Fun useless fact: Did you know that it's said that Grand Jury proceedings are so useless a prosecutor could get an indictment of you? "Ham sandwich" is the exact thing given.
