Please. I don't get it at all. I haven't felt that something was less worthy of Internet fame since the time I went to Digg.

NPR wrote:The truth is that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis hired a company to help them get their music into stores. That company, Alternative Distribution Alliance, is an arm of Warner Music Group, one of the most major of the major labels.

There was recently some controversy when that guy's songs were being played at OKC Thunder games. Apparently he's from Seattle, and did not want his songs played in Oklahoma City. I was up in arms too until I realized that he was arguing to have his songs NOT played in OKC. Since everyone in OKC agrees that they don't want to hear that song either, it seems like we all agree and I don't understand what the controversy was.

Dude and his musical partner were on "The Colbert Report." My guess at the time was that in TCR's efforts to capture every possibly-big rising thing, they had this pair which I found pretty unimpressive. I figured that would be the last I ever heard of them since I didn't think the rapping was that good, the music wasn't catchy, and the message made you want to roll your eyes.

So it's quite strange to hear them mentioned here (granted, luckily for me, this is only the second place I've heard them mentioned). Enjoy your ignorance, pinback!

Because, shockingly, there's a lot of people in the world who are not old, jaded and out of touch.

The song is terrible! lethargic, defend it right now.

The cretin is trying to rhyme "pocket" and "awesome." Let me state for the record that he does NOT succeed.

Hm, it starts with "what what". There's another song with "what what" in it:

(Certainly Don Rogers Show material.)

It's the American version of Gangnam Style.

It's a joke song and has a humorous video so it went viral because people were watching it for the goof. But people watched the video so much that the song got stuck in their heads and they actually started liking it.

If Chocolate Rain happened now it'd end up on the radio because we live an internet meme obsessed society.

I like Gangnam Style. It's got a good beat and you can dance to it. Also Hyuna is in the video. She also has a good beat, and you can [redacted] to her.

I've never seen it. And I've never seen a Harlem Shake video. I have no idea what that is.

Didn't you JUST fucking say this:

Idiot. You are JADED AND OUT OF TOUCH, because you think it is awesome and something to brag about that you've never seen Gangnam Style and don't know what a Harlem Shake video is.

SPOILERS: They are fun and hilarious, and you are a goddamn lunatic.

Unless you are being ironic, in which case you are terrible at it.

Ok, this Macklemore song is not the one they played on The Colbert Report, which was not very good, and dudes weren't really a very interesting interview.

Having watched the video, ok, yeah, I had heard about this song and having listened to it in its entirety, I can say, yeah, it's pretty entertaining. I can't say for certain that the enjoyment will not wear out its welcome, and judging by the other stuff I've seen of these guys, yeah, I'd be surprised if I like another one of their songs.

Still, the hit song is not the piece of trash I thought it was going to be.
