Christianity... the hero dies in the end. Seriously? Self sacrifice, totally not a win.

Buddhism (technically a philosophy)- Buddha abandoned his family.... OF COURSE you can find inner peace when you only have to take care of yourself. OF COURSE you can tell everyone else how easy it is when you can concentrate on doing the right thing for you... not necessarily effective in groups where not all are willing to take personal responsibility.

Please add... =)

Jules did in "Pulp Fiction" and Raymond Reddington did in "The Blacklist."

In real life if you walk away from your current life and just start over somewhere else, either you are independently wealthy, have a good pension or are a sociopath who doesn't care about those who depend on you. Or you have the type of employer that will let you "phone it in." Even when you work as a programmer most employers want you on-site even though there's no reason for you to be there is person, you could do everything through a VPN connection and work over the Internet.

Most people who do this can because they bought an RV, sold their house and do not have to have a permanent address. I'd move to a state with no income tax first if I had a taxable pension in order to get rid of state income tax.
