Jonsey, you can put wet wipes in the toilet

Jonsey, I happened to stumble on your posting about having to spend $150 for a plumber because wet wipes clogged your plumbing.
Your problem is you bought the wrong kind.
Cottonelle is a good brand, and if you look on the package it says "flushable."
That's the code word. The wet wipes must have the word "flushable" on them. (Or rather, the packaging; the wet wipes don't have anything on them at all.) And you flush them one or two at a time. If the package doesn't say flushable, the wipes do not necessarily break up the way toilet paper does.
Cottonelle wipes will shred like toilet paper. They're only a little thicker than toilet paper instead of the non-flushable ones that are more like cloth (similar to diapers), and will clog pipes.
And I know Cottonelle wipes don't clog drains because I've been doing this for more than six months since the landlord replaced the old toilet. Haven't had a clog at all despite doing this on a regular basis (as in every time I have a bowel movement).
And I used to use wet wipes exclusively until I discovered they are not very good for cleaning up diarrhea. They'll do quite a lot, but when you have very wet material, you need something dry to mop up the really wet bits. At that point I realized I also needed to have toilet paper as well.
