Upgrade to phpBB3 or tapatalk?

I understand this has been an ongoing back and forth "when there is time and maybe interest" sort of thing, but it would be nice to have a tapatalk app for Jolt Country or at least phpBB3 with a style for mobiles.
And the rss reader...
And what not...
Just a request, not sure what the RoI would be, but it would make the forums a little less painful to scroll when I'm in the bathroom at work.

I agree about phpBB3, but I tried the conversion once and it didn't work. And we would lose the theme.
However! I'd sooner kill myself than install Taptalk because of how it ruins every website it infects with that gay-assed HURR dialogue box when I go there for mobile. I'm pretty sure I see it whine about its use on non-mobile versions as well.
But your main point is CORRECT. It'd be nice for mobile and RSS support. Let's bump this thread until I get home internet again.

Please no. The absolute worst thing about the internet in 2015 is how every damn website defaults to inferior mobile versions when browsing from a cell phone, and many don't even have an option for full site anymore (or they make sure to hide the link as well as they can). Newsflash to developers: I can read a full site on my 6" screen cell phone just as well as I can on my laptop.
I don't get why now that everyone has huge smartphones, the internet has decided to force upon us mobile websites that would work on a phone from the early 2000s.

I would like to say, and I will, that I think after 15 years, maybe the place could use a coat of paint.
I know it won't change anything, and the theme has served us well, and I know it will NOT be changed, ever, but I think it should. Not a huge change, just...
Just a fresh coat of paint.
We're all different from who we were when we joined the site. The site itself is evidence of that.
Time for the old girl to change with us.

I guess I just don't want it to look like every default forum everywhere, with black text on a white screen.
I also don't want white text on a black screen.
It would also be nice if the transition to phpBB3 worked.
Lots of people do the thing where they abandon the old URL but I don't want to do that either.

DB migration tools for the old posts
With any somewhat-normal BBS software we can just have a theme contest to find/make something that is/isn't horrible. Fun for all!
