Windows 10 ran away

It froze up on me today when I got home from work. I hit the hard restart and it was just ......gone. No restore points, nothing. If I didn't have 7 on a flash drive I'd be screwed.
It might have been the updates, who knows.

Well, it was just a two month test to see how much I liked 7 anyway, right? besides, I thought that Red X thing was underhanded or them. So now it's back to good old 7 for me.

You made the right decision, but more, you made the right decision for yourself.

Oh, re-reading your post, it looks like Windows 10 killed itself than exist any more. I would expect such a thing if it found most of our

"hidden drives."

;)

but not just out of the blue. I won't lie, this is a bit odd.

Win 10 was like wearing dress shoes for someone's wedding. This (7) is like putting a comfortable pair of sneakers back on.

Edit: I like it better when they're called PROGRAMS, not apps. PROGRAMS are what's on my desktop PC. Apps are either programs on my phone or small dishes of food served before dinner. I will not bow to the newspeak.

I gave in to the 10 update on my wife's computer and then again on mine. It failed to update onto my laptop and now doesn't even try anymore.

Oh yeah, downgrading also let my Zune work again. Go figure.

My new computer, a six-core 64-bit 3.5 ghz Cybertron I bought last year or so for about $1,000, had a free upgrade from 7 to 10. (My sister previously gave me one of her unused upgrade keys and so originally I had upgraded it from Win 7 Home Premium to Win 7 Professional.)

I haven't really noticed much difference in the way it operates or runs programs except they fucked up the menu system for finding a program.

Used to be you could put things in folders related to what you were doing. Now it shows everything in alphabetical order by program name, which does not allow organization as I want it. If they are going to put that in, they should give people the choice to use it the old way or the new way.

My previous high-end computer, a 64 bit Win 7 Quad Core 3.1 ghz Acer Aspire - and I've already heard the Aspie jokes, so forget it - is not beefy enough to upgrade to Windows 10. So that one, which is on the desk behind me, I use for other work, especially since it has the rotating monitor.

Good news. You can now get $10000 for unwanted Windows 10 upgrades:
