Pumped BMX+

Post by pinback »

First off, thanks for Roody for pointing us to the Majestic Bundle so we could finally all get our copies.

Second off, I am way better at this than any of you. I mean, I'm only on the first level, but anyone who knows me knows that I'm the fucking Billy Mitchell of this place, and will likely beat all of your records, except for Flack's, who 100%ed the shit. I will merely tie him (but probably get better scores whilst doing so.)

Anyhow, it wants me to do a "360 backflip turndown". I am backflipping and turning the fuck down like nobody's business. I am flipping 360 degrees. SORRY if I don't get you and your millennial "jargon" here, but it's almost unacceptable that it doesn't actually tell you what a "360 backflip turndown" is. Tells you what a backflip is! Tells you what a turndown is! I already know what 360 means! LOL! I am doing all of those things!

And yet, it will not award me the little checkmark.

What the fuck is 360 backflip turndown.

I am way better at this than you, but answer me anyway.

A 360 backflip turndown FOR WHAT!

The 360 refers to spinning, so you need to do a backflip, plus spin 360 degrees (up or down on controller or keyboard), plus the turndown. You can usually break the spins and flips into two different moves, so think of it like a backflip turndown and then add a 360 spin before landing.

Will you be going through this adventure using the keyboard or a gamepad?

I figured this out whilst still in bed this morning. I forgot you could "spin". Once I realized that, I came down, got my coffee, and -- of course -- did it perfectly.

Yeah, but you have to be at least a little bit concerned. I mean, I've had it less than 24 hours:

I don't recall. All I remember is that I completed it in less time than you will.

It is this attitude that makes you an inferior gamer to Flack.

I still feel like I'll finish this eventually. I mean, to me, it seems like the keys to the game are:

1. Learn the layout so you know when to press the spacebar.
2. Do the "special trick" for each level.
3. Get everything else by mashing buttons randomly while you're in the air.

Flack may try to explain why this is wrong and there's lots of subtlety involved, but nigga has mashed some random buttons, don't let him fool ya.

Anyway, fantastic game, and more than worth the $3 bundle cost on its own.

The nerve! I... well, no, that's pretty much what I did.

There were a few levels where I spent days trying to pull of the special trick. Sometimes it was because I was trying to do the trick off of the wrong ramp but sometimes it was just because it was darn near impossible. The ones that required multiple tricks that requires a diagonal move were the worst.

I think what Flack is try to tell you here pinback is the reason he is a superior gamer to you is humility and determination.

Playing about an hour a day, I think it took me 3 weeks to unlock everything. You are way ahead of my schedule. I have underestimated your ability to finish something.

Well, I'm at 59% on Legend, but I can see this taking way more than three weeks to finish. I'm good with the tricks, I can do the tricks, but the score stuff is not "clicking" for me.

Not "clicking".
