This game was written using XC=BASIC, which is a cross compiler for the C64. The short explanation is, it's easier to create games these days than it was back then using modern tools. Also I looked up the programmer and it looks like he graduated high school in 1996, which means he would have been 7 or 8 in 1986. :)

This thread is for me finding a compiled version of the game. IndieRetroNews just linked to github and I don't see any C64 executables.
