Where's my new avatar?

Wait, how? I only ever talked about kung-fu and how much tv sucks. Although there was a conspicuous absence of me from any dipshit car or computer accessory argument :(

by Jethro Q. Walrustitty » Thu Apr 27, 2006 10:21 am

No, I'm not really comparing the two - especially since I knew both of those separately long before they got together.

I also never got the "OK, feel free to trash me if it's good for the content" that I think is what's being stated here.

I just think that, in general, it's easy to say that one won't be bothered if their significant others gets some abuse, and not necessarily so easy to not get bothered when it happens.

Anyway, that's only tangentally related to some of the original topics on this thread. I rarely post even when I do visit because for a while, I wasn't really interested in the style of humor that was mainly practiced over here. There were some good monologues but often threads would quickly decend into the usual blog-style-list-of-links or phony names giving frowny faces. (Predictable response to this message, if guest posting was still allowed, would be messages written by "blog-style-list-of-links" and "phony names" with frowny faces.)

That's fine if that's what you like. And obviously the JC regulars do, but I prefer a slightly different style. So some people mainly hang here, some hang over at Groucho, some hang at both - and the vast majority of people shun both.

I think I know who you are referring to. One half of that partnership has left your board twice and my boards three times. The other half left numerous times as well. I don't think the situations are similar, I really don't.

I didn't drive Chris away, someone talked about his retarted maggot kid dying and he left.

I left for a couple reasons.

1. I don't like anyone here, and every opinon expressed filled me with rage.
2. I have my own website that doesn't have forums or anything of interest to anyone here and is poorly constructed. It's for me and my friends
3. I would get half way through a post and just think "what's the fucking point?"

I lurk because I like to read what my brother does, I don't see him anymore and I like to know what he is up to.

Just an FYI, and I didn''t want to get blamed for that pussy Chris leaving.

So, when one member of your BBS can claim the possessive to another member, you lay off? What a great guy, this Jeffery.

Actually, I believe that I may have posted a few times on here before Jonsey and V were an item, and she got as much trashtalk as anyone else. I'm an equal-opportunity insulter.

But, things are different when they're dating... and because I have little to no history with her. I could care less if Jonsey (or damn near anyone else on the planet) calls me a cocksucker, and I have no problems calling 2 of 3 groups of people cocksuckers. See if you can pick them out from this list:
  • People I don't know and who'll never read what I wrote (celebrities, etc)
People I know well and have known for years and/or ones that mean nothing to me
People who I don't really know and who are dating a friend
I don't go after Da King's woman. I don't go after Nessman's woman. I don't go after Straw's woman. And I don't go after Jonsey's woman.

And, while Jonsey (and V) may swear up and down that there would be no such problems - that's been said many times through history then found not to be the case. And let's not pretend that I haven't majorly pissed off a few people online over the years. We've also agreed for many years that you don't mess with a guy's wheels, and you don't mess with a guy's woman.

Well, OK, that's probably about 85% of the reason. I do try to be a little nicer to women than men, due to some twisted sense of chivalry. (Although my best female friend - other than my wife, of course - gets all sorts of abuse from me, but she loves it and happily gives it right back - that kind of relationship takes a while to build!)

V, I'm guessing this is supposed to be a big reveal? I would guess that you were posting as "Cyberium" since no one really knows anything about that user; in fact for a while, BigS thought it was one of her old roommates. (In other words, I had suspicions of femaleness, anyway!)

So, I'm not allowed to keep an air that I knew what the fuck was going on? Instead of using a diversionary statement to fish for an answer, I've gotta type: "DURRR SO WHO WAS YOU POSTING AS?". Is this how it is?

No, Worm, that would have been completely not the point.

ooooooooooooooooo intrigue!

You weren't me on there, were you?

Yeah, JQW was afraid to say to disagree with a single thing I said, or to take my disagreements with him the same way he took everyone else's comments, i.e., with vinegar and bile, because I am a girl. So I went over to his website and registered an account, let everyone assume I was a dude, and have been arguing and agreeing with vim for the past 2 years. Lo! He liked me just fine and gave me the same shit he gave everyone else when he didn't think it was a female he had to cushion. Good times.

Who wasn't on good terms? You know how you and I had a thread on your board where we called each other cocksuckers about phpBB for a week? Does that have ANY effect on ANYthing between us? Of course not. Is there ANY evidence that BBS shit affects "real life" in all the time we have known each other? Of course not. It's about the last subject that would / will come up when we hang out next. So why would it be any different with you and Vitriola?

Nobody sees to have answered, so I will speak up and say that Jeff = me. Assuming that's who he's referring to. It is a little strange to have "real name" used by someone who hasn't (if ever) frequented by BBS and be unknown by someone who spent at least a fair amount of time there once upon a time, but that's one of those Mysteries of the Internet.
I IM'd Lysander. I try not to use real names online, unless it's on the specific suggestions of the owner of that name.
Oh, and to keep Lysander happy: "maggot" (Mostly Worm in this thread, for that ridiculous Japanimation avatar.)
I've got stupidier pictures banging around in the wormmobile.

I don't know if it's completely fair that V drove me away - I thought I should remove myself as we (V & I) seemed to be mixing it up a little and I think that, no matter how "cool" one is about such things, it's best to stay on good terms with friend's girlfriends otherwise risk alienating yourself from that friend entirely. But for the sake of "scoreboard", that's fine.

I got my hopes up reading this thread, which implied that Ben had left for good - only to be disappointed to see another post from him. I'd probably be a lot more likely to post were he not here. What a wuss. Either leave, or stop pretending to. There's plenty of other message boards on the internet to annoy.

Some good came out of this thread after all!

by Worm » Mon Apr 24, 2006 7:37 pm

I can manage that. I just didn't want to have to fuss to get that exact shade of red.

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Mon Apr 24, 2006 6:27 pm

Worm, let me know if you want me to shrink this down to avatar-size.

Worm, I am going to talk about you like you're not here. I think that college has done WONDERS for Worm. I'm really glad he's attending. I know he's into some bizarre shit, but I think that just people around other people has socialized him in a happy and healthy way.

For the record I don't think you've driven anyone off. At least if you had, that person was a prick. You can't help how your messages look. If I thought it a message needed more line breaks, I'd just insert them.

I appreciate your contributions.
