Um.... You two do know that if two parties that encounter each other are wearing masks, the chances of contracting COVID-19 fall to the low single digits?
This is also the first time I'd advocate for banning someone for trolling: Billy's remarks are completely asinine and dangerous to the health of actual people. Then there is what he said in this thread about masks and COVID-19.

The purpose of wearing a mask is to prevent the mask wearer from giving the disease to someone else. If you want protection, you have to stay 6 feet away and/or wear a face covering especially protecting the eyes.Billy Mays wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2020 9:04 pm Tens of thousands, maybe more.
I don't get it though, how could they spread it to people already wearing the mask? Isn't that what this is all about?Tdarcos wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2020 6:45 pm About the only thing I regret is these fools who go out in public and refuse to wear a mask either won''t catch the disease and die, or they'll be asymptomatic carriers, Typhoid Joe Bobs and Typhoid Berthas spreading the disease to immunocompromised people.

For protection against covid-19. Other disease require more stringent protection.Billy Mays wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2020 10:58 pmMasks and purell? That's all we need? Really?Casual Observer wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2020 10:43 pmAgain, if you wear a mask I don't need goggles. We also have sanitizer stations by the shopping carts
We're not discussing cholera, ebola, tuberculosis, measles, polio, e. coli, gonorrhea, HIV/AIDS, or lots of other nasties that medical facilities have to deal with. These and others require other (more stringent) methods.Billy Mays wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2020 10:58 pm Well holy shit someone needs to contact every hospital in the world and tell them they have been doing things all wrong for decades now.
I hink you need to look in the mirror.

Don't do that.
If we're gonna start banning people for trolling, I have a few other names in mind. This is also the first time I'd advocate for banning someone for trolling: Billy's remarks are completely asinine and dangerous to the health of actual people. The fact that we didn't ban you for the horrible things you said to Tdarcos for two weeks means you are officially out of the "I Think We Should Ban" business. If using the Admin panel wasn't a nightmare I'd give him more permissions.RetroRomper wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 1:26 am This is also the first time I'd advocate for banning someone for trolling: Billy's remarks are completely asinine and dangerous to the health of actual people. That's why I'm advocating that people should be forced to also wear latex gloves that they constantly have to change out and throw in specially marked biohazard containers and also wear protective goggles: because the low single digits is just too damn high. The way I see it, anyone not wearing latex gloves and protective goggles ALONG WITH THEIR MASKS are personally responsible for the deaths of thousands of people. Shame on them.RetroRomper wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 1:26 amUm.... Protecting the eyes, you mean like by wearing protective goggles? The thing only I seem to be advocating in this thread full of careless psychopaths?

No offense, but I think you are just as qualified to talk about this as you are weight loss in pinback's weight loss thread.

This would be over in two weeks if everyone in American dressed up as Night Thrasher.

At this point, I don't even remember why leaving the house was ever a thing. Masks help and should be worn by anyone who must travel into the belly of the beast (aka "society"), but they're not 100% protection. Social distancing and splendid isolation remain the gold standards.

We have had that for a few weeks now. Some customers ignore it and even some managers ignore it. For the most part people comply but no one is yelling about it with each other that I have seen here yet.
It looks like lately the infection rate is going up while fatalities from it continue to go down unless you count dudes splattered on the street as dies from the virus.

Well, I would expect death rates for a disease to go down, as death rates for diseases have gone down over time for every single disease since the invention of the scientific method.
But even if death was off the table I still don't want to catch this. Do any of you guys want to catch this? If you aren't asymptomatic it sounds like HELL. I don't particularly want to get the regular flu at this point in time either. I feel like once you leave home flus aren't fun anymore, I call it the flu paradox. This is my experience:
- If you are single and get the flu you are at least left alone but nobody can run out and get you something. I was single and caught the flu once and I remember calling my brother (who lives with me at the time) up as I was hallucinating because I wanted olives or lime Popsicles or something.
- If you aren't single, there is at least someone there to take care of you but they also basically want you to get back to doing chores around the house as soon as possible, you selfish monster.
I'm trying to become a better person by staying off handmade Moon Patrol high score lists and acting in a manner that is at loggerheads with the community here, but the flu paradox is my last cynical belief and I think we're all entitled to one cynical belief.

Right! As the virus runs out of unhealthy hosts, the frags per hour decreases.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote: Fri Jul 17, 2020 11:54 pm Well, I would expect death rates for a disease to go down, as death rates for diseases have gone down over time for every single disease since the invention of the scientific method.
