Man, I haven't seen any of these all the way through except for A Clockwork Orange. :(

I mean, I'm okay with Clockwork winning this, just as I'm okay with Raiders winning the Spielberg one, but I feel like the Clockwork people didn't see 2001.

(I feel the Raiders people DID see Jaws, and I understand the choice. I mean, if I had to pick the BEST Spielberg movie, I might have chosen Ryan, but it'll never be my favorite.)

There are only three Kubrick movies in this list that I've seen, so 2001 wins. Plus I'm an Arthur C. Clarke fan.

Poll's for our favorite Kubrik movie, not his best. 2001 is obviously his greatest work. If it were on tonight, I wouldn't watch it.pinback wrote: Wed Nov 25, 2020 2:28 pm I mean, I'm okay with Clockwork winning this, just as I'm okay with Raiders winning the Spielberg one, but I feel like the Clockwork people didn't see 2001.

Re: What is your favorite STANLEY KUBRICK movie?
Kubrick was an absolutely brlliant director. Those who knew him spoke of his laser focus and absolute obsessive attention to detail of his work, often at the expense of anything else. While filming FMJ, Kubrick was sighting locations with two other people, explaining how he would be framing the shots. At the time while dictating instructions, Kubrick was driving his wife's minivan when his inattention to driving caused him to drive off the road into the ditch. Kubrick gets out (along with everyone else) and while standing on top of the driver's side door of the tipped-over van, continues to relay instructions about what he wants done in the film's scenes and how the scene will be shot, as if he was completely oblivious to the fact he'd just had an accident.
