I'm sort of hoping for a 50/50 mix of my friends in terms of getting the vaccine. That way, if some of them get turned into a horrible mutant with ten eyes on stalks and the ability to breathe fire, I can go catch covid with the other half.

So no matter what your wife decides, I win.

I mentioned I got the vaccine on social media and immediately started getting passive-aggressive comments. "Wow, how lucky you got it, my (family member who they think deserves it more then me) hasn't been able to get it yet. How again did you get on the list?" Add that to my in-laws who literally told us "enjoy your government chips" and... yeah. I just can't worry about what people think any more. I'm done being the mask police, the vaccine police, the social distancing police, whatever. At this point I'm just about keeping me and my family alive.

Right? I cant imagine not being happy for everyone who gets it. There's a chance I get a call this month because they will have to throw some shots away otherwise. I can get to the hospital in 10 minutes, 9 if the flash drive is playing pop punk. Life happens. I want health care professionals, supermarket workers and O.J. Simpson to get it before me, but in my case, if it means I get a shot because those people can't make it to town fast enough, I'm in.

I can't IMAGINE following someone on social media and not being thrilled they got the vaccine.

When it gets as casual as a flu shot is when I'm getting one, after the privilege factor is gone. My friend, a radiologist, who works with cancer patients every day, gets the same 'oh, you must be so lucky' attitude by some of her social cretins. Everyone will be able to enjoy the vaccine eventually, there's no need to get all snarky about it
