Dead Alewives
I put this up for other reasons, but if you haven't heard the two MP3s that the Dead Alewives put out regarding their take on just what a D&D session is like, grab 'em here:

I found a couple references to the SNL skit about D&D, but no script or detail of any sort. From what I remember, I think they must have ripped off DA something fierce. Then again, I may just be confusing it with all the times I heard DA on Dr. D. Which reminds me to find a radio station which plays Dr. D and also streams their broadcast so I can hear it tomorrow night.

Holy shit, LG still alive?
WHERE YA BEEN LOAFIE? Haven't heard from you in a while.
Your "Legend of the Green Dragon" character over on Groucho is probably either about to expire or has already.
If you're into comedy shows, Vitre-cola, Rochester's own "Frigging Here" is webcast every weekend and I think they have archives online, at least they used to. Same content as Dr. D, minus the personality and the Funny Five. (Assuming that Demento still does the Funny Five. Years ago, I used to listen to him religiously - that is, while wearing a funny hat - but I haven't heard him in years and I don't believe he's been carried locally for years.)

First to make the, "she's into bad comedy shows, that's why she's moving to Colorado with Jonsey" comment.Jethro Q. Walrustitty wrote:If you're into comedy shows, Vitre-cola, Rochester's own "Frigging Here" is webcast every weekend and I think they have archives online, at least they used to.
She's leaving today, in a little bit. OMG, OMG, OMG. I need to find some horse tranq in order to calm myself down.

Geez, dude, just go rub one out and take a nap.
Hey, swipe me one of those bitchin' new Athlon64s while you're at it.
I assume that your day-to-day work is not terribly dissimilar to what it was before. But really, it's gotta feel better to say "I'm working for AMD" than "err, umm, remember Cyrix?"
(I did love my Cyrix "P166+" though. Of course, that was many, many moons ago.)
As for Vitre-Cola, beware if she ever wants to play "doctor" with you, then wants you to dress up in a top hat and weird beard:

(Damn, can't find a pic online from back when he had a really bizarre beard.)

Oh, and does this mean that she'll never end up banging the redhead?
V, you had her there, on her bed, in her panties (let's assume that we're talking a thong or similar, not some big gramma-panties, bloomers, or "period pieces" here), rubbing her legs, and you didn't go for it?
Shameful! For shame! And you dare to call yourself bisexual! Apparently, you're just one of the "it's chic to 'experiment'" crowd, and are merely pretending - why? For the (makes quotes sign with fingers) content???
Well, actually, that is a pretty good reason. But at least claim that you did something about it.

Where was this advice earlier when I needed it? I should have gone back to this thread.Jethro Q. Walrustitty wrote:Geez, dude, just go rub one out and take a nap.
That is one of the cool things about working for this company. We make shit people want. I never heard, in all my time at Semi, "Hey, can you get me a capacitor?"Hey, swipe me one of those bitchin' new Athlon64s while you're at it.
I guess. I am quite happy to not be working for National Semiconductor any longer, though. I have received a little "StorageTek" vibe whenever people from AMD in California come on by, but it may just be something that all lifers develop. Dunno. So far so good as far as I am concerned.I assume that your day-to-day work is not terribly dissimilar to what it was before. Then again, I am also just really pumped that they are like, hey, free week off in December. That still hasn't sunk in yet.

Well, don't be like TRM and never come up with the goods when you work somewhere cool. Make like your EB days, where you were like Santa Sherwin. Or like Depp in Pirates of the Carribean. Ahhh, booty.
Damn, I knew StorageTek sounded familiar. I have to go some work at a local office of theirs next month. Any idea who Derek Lueb is? He's the contact dude.
Seems to me that AMD is on the cusp of a second wave of serious growth, like they were when the first Athlon comes out. The buzz that I've seen is that the Athlon64 is really, really fucking fast. If I were debt-free and had some extra cash, I'd probably buy some of their stock.

I haven't worked for StorageTek since November of 99. And even then, I was only there for three months. And they were 70 miles away from my house as a straight shot.Jethro Q. Derek? Wait, THAT Derek! Oh, wow! Holy shit. Small world. Tell him I said, "hey." If he doesn't remember my name, tell him I am the guy who dyed his hair in the lab.
It's only, what, $12 a share right now? COME ON NOW WALRUSTITTY!Seems to me that AMD is on the cusp of a second wave of serious growth, like they were when the first Athlon comes out. hehehe sorry for the reply a 3 weeks later Jeff, I've been very very very busy. Family shit. Moms having surgery again, brother managed to produce a third offspring, Tammy calling me every two weeks with a wedding crisis, work from hell. Basically my daily life amplified by 5 thousand and thrown at me like a giant boulder.
I have seriously been pondering finding a nice cave to live in at a state park or something so i can begin planning my subsequent loss of sanity and killing spree. It's hard to find a good cave with indoor plumming though. I did find a group of bats looking for a roomate in the Adirondaks but I can't deal with that whole guano thing.

If you are serious about the killing come to PA near Wilkes Barre. We need more murderers. You can also escape from our prisons in the method you'd never think you could ... bedsheets. That fucker got out of the prison in the most unreal cartoony method.loafergirl wrote:I have seriously been pondering finding a nice cave to live in at a state park or something so i can begin planning my subsequent loss of sanity and killing spree. I remember in an episode of Jack Hanna's Wild Safari he went to a bat cave and when they flew over him the shit was so present that it was like rain.
Good point Bobby!
