Words are important! Not angry at all he pointed that out. Too many people just use words in ways that don't even mean the same thing to me these days. We can at least help each other spell them correctly lol

Q: should Tabasco be refrigerated? I do, but every barbeque joint I've ever been to just keeps the bottles on the table.
The label is strangely quiet about safety/serving suggestions, save for the admonishment to shake well before use.
Eating lasagna with Tabasco on it right now!

Hot sauce generally contains enough vinegar to keep it safe at room temps. On top of that, most factories add extra preservative.

There is exactly one case where you would want to refrigerate Tabasco, and it is this: You plan on keeping the same bottle for months and months and months, and you care what color it is.
If left out, it eventually will start to turn an ugly brown instead of its normal vibrant red. As it's comprised entirely of natural preservatives (vinegar, salt, chiles) it'll stay "good" virtually forever, but if a bottle lasts you more than a year, I'd refrigerate it just so it stays pretty.

I thought it may be an artistic choice, showing the letter A had undergone a sodium-influenced transformation, its belly distending to approximate the letter O.
