Mina scored 1,500 on Ms. Pac-Man tonight.

That's not a very good score, but she's been playing various Pacs for years now, and her playstyle has always been "randomly jam the controller back and forth while staring at something else in the room."

Tonight, we played two-player, and on her turn I watched her play, and for the first time ever, she actually seemed to figure it out. She was trying to eat the dots, and moving the controller, albeit slowly, with intention. She even ate a ghost, which she died quickly after that because she was too busy cheering and celebrating the moment, while Ms. Pac was stuck in a corner awaiting instructions.

I am always proud of my daughter, because in the face of all of her many adversities, she is always smiling and happy and makes everyone around her happier just by being herself.

But I'm especially proud of her tonight because she figured out how to actually play a video game, and fucked Inky up bigtime.
