Duck Slide Range (My first mobile game app)
For those who don't follow me on Twitter or didn't hear via a different channel, I released a free (ad-driven) version of the game I launched to both iOS and Android at the end of last year. If you like water, rubber ducks, and skill-based games then please give it a try!

Game Website link:

I will probably release this same ads version to iOS sometime next week.
If you really enjoy the game but hate ads then you can purchase the ad-free version for 3.99 (this will probably be reduced late spring/early summer).

I didn't realize the iOS version was available for purchase! I just picked it up and will mention it on my next podcast and stream. If there is an easy way to capture phone video I can run a clip of it on my stream.

How did you do? I want to know!
Holy shit. Thank you Rob. I'm not even lying when I say I was praying to the unknown that you would take interest in this game and share it with your mob, but I know you've had mad shit going on lately and did not want to pester you at allFlack wrote: Sun Mar 05, 2023 10:19 am I didn't realize the iOS version was available for purchase! I've reached out to 2 other podcasters to try to buy time at a reasonable rate and wow that has been a rabbit hole. As far as the playback goes, I'd just use the Apple controls to start a screen capture video then have it playing back as you comment on it.
This was the sort of pitch I was throwing at those other 2 podcasts that ran ads:
This game was created by an independent American developer who is a listener of this podcast that wants to introduce a completely family-friendly game to the public. You can try Duck Slide Range by downloading it for free on Apple Store or Play Store; and if you enjoy it then please consider buying the ad-free version which delivers the latest updates first without any gameplay interruption. Also, any interest in Duck Slide Range will lead to future content. With the first 100 confirmed global downloads of either the paid or ad-driven version of the app, the developer will add more content such as new levels, new duck types and more; again to be released for owners of the full app first. The game will continue to be expanded on so long as there are people playing the game. So, step right up and search for Duck Slide Range in the Google Play or Apple Store today

Haha oh man. So, only stabbing at 2 outlets has proven to just be a waste of time so far.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote: Mon Mar 06, 2023 7:54 am Oooo without naming names, how has trying to get ad space been?
The first one was a "paranormal" podcast because as you dudes know I'm into that stuff that had advertised the game "Best Fiends" like every damn commercial break. That got me thinking surely they would entertain new ads, right? Nope, they operate under some sort of podcast "network umbrella" that arranges their advertising for them.
The other podcast was one I honestly don't listen to often. Though it's not bad and the subject matter does interest me. They mainly talk about horror movies and sometimes video games. I mainly contacted them because a close friend of mind said they were cool and I should contact them. At first they basically told me I'd have to pay 80$ to advertise anything one time then they were like "Well wait here is our full pricing plan!" and one of the options was for 40$. I told them I was leaning towards that.. and never heard back. Ironically by glancing at their storefronts Flack has more listeners anyway, so I don't care if I ever do.
This is all a learning experience to me! I've made games before but never tried to actually sell one.
That being said, Flack I'm happy to pay you something for your time/effort despite money being a bit tight right now. I just feel like it's not getting many hits even for free due to store algorithms and such. I will try to get the free iOS version out by end of the week!

Re: Duck Slide Range (My first mobile game app)
Does Mobygames allow entries for mobile games? They had a very, very, very stupid policy about "interpreted" games at one point, maybe they still do. I can't imagine they opened the floodgates to all the iOS and Android offerings, but maybe they did, or maybe they do if developers enter the games themselves.

I put a big plug in the middle break of yesterday's episode of Sprite Castle. I'll mention it on You Don't Know Flack next week as well.

I really appreciate it man. Thanks a lot! I'm going to check it out now while I work more on getting the ad-driven iOS version out.
