Lol no, that's not why I was in the hospital, check the date. Yes, I have a catheter, p it socks. No, I was in the hospital from respiratory failure.

I had one of those for several months. The experience may be different for women, but most of the time it worked perfectly, I didn't even know it was there. But when something isn't right, it can be a pain.

When I went in for my amputation, while I was under anesthesia, they catheterized me. I was retaining water, not a good sign, so this, pushed all the way in, up to the urethra, drains it. After a few weeks, an ultrasound confirmed I was no longer doing so, so it was removed. For, I think about the third time. The first time it had to be removed because it clogged. Second because I had developed a urinary tract infection. That's fun, because I suffer when I pee, I can imagine what removal was going to feel like. But, in that case, they cure the infection to additionally stop the sensitivity and pain, and the inflammation, then they remove and replace the catheter. In all cases, unpleasant (uncomfortable) going in, but not painful. Coming out was also painless and either no discomfort or very little. While it's in, nothing. Just never felt the need to pee.

When I was told it was a Foley catheter, I said, "sounds good to me." I said that was a joke, as a "foley" is (or was) also a sound recording device used in motion pictures.

Well, the Foley has obvious design issues and shouldn't be used in production.

Agreed. But somehow it's keeping me out of kidney failure.

I'd say that's a pretty good reason to use it.

Motherfuckers be pissin!

I've only had to have one used on myself due to a medical emergency and it was awful. I distinctly remember the burning sensation of feeling like I still had to pee after it was removed when they assured me my bladder was drained. I kinda hope I drop dead before having to experience that again lol.

There's something fun about pulling catheter out of a woman. I make the sound 'shoop"

I suspect the woman would disagree.

Not if she had I.C. and I just gave some lovely Lidocaine. Worst thread ever.

I was going to ask what was I.C., but I looked it up instead. Interstitial Cystitis (IC), otherwise known as "Bladder Pain Syndrome" is a condition which can be treated with antihistamines. My understanding is, you don't do something like "yank out" a catheter while a person is suffering from an inflammatory disease or condition. First, you get rid of the inflammation or irritation, then you go removing stuff.

No, I think that award goes to Daily Bad Name for an Abortion Clinic from 2002.

Oh come on, Jiz! If you want to "unsubscribe," just don't click on the message! Besides, it hasn't been that gross, I mean, we're not discussing genital debridement here, you know, where a person's privates have [CENSORED], and they have to [CENSORED] tissue. The pictures are both fascinating and gross, You wanna talk about gross, well...
