Sickness in yer lungs! It's the hot thing right now

For three weeks I have had a scratchiness in my lungs, and a mild cough. It would be worse at night. I could live with it during the day.

It all took a turn for the worse Friday night! The coughing is constant. Well, like one cough every 4-5 minutes. Cough medicine that is on the shelf at a store did not work.

After destroying my Memorial Day weekend, I woke up today and it was still bad, so I took off work and went to urgent care. I got there at 7:55 AM, which means I got to text my wife, "I am waiting 5 minutes until Urgent Care opens." Good to know, says my heart, or if I get clobbered by that same runaway bus that got my brother.

I got a chest x-ray, but it was fine. I was given... what was I given: doxycycline for acute sinusitis. And benzonatate for the cough. I am allergic to penicillin, so I didn't get the good stuff, I am guessing.

Don't get this thing, whatever it is!

Oh, and it's the feeling of being really run down which is the most crippling from it.

Sorry Jonesy. I truly hope that you feel well soon. I've been in the ICU 3x this month.
Chronic Respiratory Failure. Intubated, feedingtube. Both each time. The first time they extubated me, my trachea collapsed.

It did!! Not at first. My second pill is when it rolled up its sleeves, looked the cough right in the eyes and shat down its neck.

The first pill got a savage beating! Ha!

Ok, my lungs are killing me again with a different thing. This is a cold of some kind. I guess it wasn't that long from when I was sick. I have been sick in May, October and November. Ooof. And I am loving that, reading back, my Memorial Day weekend was ruined and now my weekend after Thanksgiving is also ruined. The fuck can't I get these during that stretch of the year when you go from January to September with no work holidays?
