DNS issues with this site
Anyone having problems where the site doesn't come up at first and you have to refresh 2 or 3 times? Or is it just my awful internet?

Re: DNS issues with this site
Every once in a while I'll need to log in as it won't just use the saved password in my browser. That could be a phone issue though. The only time it does a DNS thing is (to me) when someone else is posting while I'm trying to read the thread

Re: DNS issues with this site
It is probably your ISP dns. Usually the way I check this is temporarily setting my dns server to 8.8.8.8 (Google)

No issues to report here. I mean, none with the site loading.

Same. Well, almost. I use 1.1.1.1 as primary DNS (Cloudflare) and 8.8.8.8 as secondary (Google.)Jizaboz wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 11:15 am It is probably your ISP dns. Usually the way I check this is temporarily setting my dns server to 8.8.8.8 (Google)
Yeah, I know, "privacy concerns," but at this point I don't care anymore if others know about my porn fetishes.

I should be able to change DNS on a per computer basis. It would not surprise me if this somehow got ruined by Starlink.

Yup, mostly likely when you connected to Starlink it "auto configured" your connection to use the Starlink DNS. I can't even knock them for that though as the DNS servers for the RoadRunner/Time Warner Cable/Spectrum/Charter/Cocks cable ISP providers are also fucking garbage.

Speaking of that, this place used to have a Net Nanny' setup where certain sites were blocked. Fine if its a phishing or malware site, but also ones they didn't like the content. Sites discussing guns were one of the things blocked. And porn. Well, I tried changing my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 (secondary) I no longer had problems with reaching porn sites.RealNC wrote: Mon Jul 24, 2023 8:06 amSame. Well, almost. - Click Start Button
- Click on settings button
- Click on 'Network & Internet'
- On 'Status' page, click on 'change adapter options'
- Right Click on whichever icon is your internet connection
- Click on 'Properties'
- On ;Networking' tab, click on 'Internet Protocol Version 4'
- Click on 'Properties'
- On the 'General' page, change selection of 'Obtain DNS Server address automatically' to 'Use the following DNS addresses'
- Enter preferred and alternate (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for Google, 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 for Cloudflare)
- Click on 'Ok' (you may want to select 'Validate setting on exit' to confirm you did it right.
- I have not done this in a long time, you might have to reboot for the change to be effective, I'm not sure.
